For mother's day I have got her the usual chocs and flowers.
Her birthday is week after, so I would like to get her something special because she is special. I cant afford too much. ANy ideas for a nice 'different' yet special gift?
Something special for Mum's Birthday?
Mothers love a clean house %26amp; fresh picked flowers. They also love things hand made from their children. Putting time %26amp; effort into something for her shows that she's well worth your time. Decorate with breath blown balloons. Make her a card %26amp; decorate it with fabric %26amp; glitter.

My boyfriend's friend invited me to his birthday party. I hardly know him. What is a good gift to buy?
I was thinking flowers and a card. Suggestions?
My boyfriend's friend invited me to his birthday party. I hardly know him. What is a good gift to buy?
I wouldnt do flowers.
Its nice, but it is a guy . . .
A gas card with a little bit (like 10-15$$) on it would be nice and thoughtful.
But dont feel obligated to buy something, a card is just fine.
Reply:A Nice bottle of cologne.
Reply:Maybe a gift card, does he read, then Barnes %26amp; Nobel, does he do movies, one from Blockbuster, or just one of those Visa giftcards that can be spent anywhere.
Reply:A photograph of your boyfreind after all you both adore him !
Reply:If it's a small party, then a card. You don't know him so you aren't obliged to get a gift. If it's a big party, "Happy Birthday!" is enough.

Do men like to receive flowers at the office?
I'm thinking about having flowers delivered to my husbands office for his birthday today. Not a large arrangement, just something small.
Men- if your wife sent you flowers at work, would you be ok with that?
Thanks!
Do men like to receive flowers at the office?
My husband says he's not into it, my friend Mike says he doesn't see why not. Not being a guy, I won't offer a personal opinion.

Reply:Absolutely. Though men tend to prefer what's called "High Style" or "Oriental" arrangements. Bright colors; stay away from pink and pastels. Striking flowers and textures are good - Bird of Paradise, miniature iris, protea, interesting greenery like Bear Grass, ...
Make sure the florist knows this is going to a man.
Reply:no guys dont want flowers at thier office. Any guy that says they do is lying, it would be embarassing to get a boquet of flowers delivered to your place of employment.
Reply:a man person that i work with recieved flowers for his birthday from a girlfriend he was really shocked and happy that he got them :) he said he had never recieved flowers before and he really liked it :)
Reply:I think you should spend the money on some lingerie for you instead and wear it tonight.... also buy some body chocolate or something....
He will like that much more than flowers....
Or atleast my hubby would.
Reply:The only guy I know that got flowers at work was gay, and even HE was embarrassed. Cook him some food or take him out to lunch. Guys like food. Heck, I'm pretty sure everyone LIKES food.
You could give him a bouquet of food gift cards. I like 7-eleven ones best.
Reply:I'd like it personally. It's a nice surprise. As for the "men don't like flowers" types, there's really not much else you can send him besides food. Which isn't a bad idea. If you send your husband some Pizza he'll enjoy it and will be able to share that more easily with his co-workers.
Reply:send chocolates. Most flower store sell them. Flowers are more of a womans thing
Reply:My husbands getting flowers in an hour at work. Its our 6th anniversary, I send him flowers all the time to work. Something very small, not feminine and usually with a coffee cup or food of some kind in the gift pack. He loves it.
Reply:bahahahahaha...this is the perfect joke to play on my guy friend. This is a great way to totally EMBARASS him. Thanks for the great idea. As for as sending them to your husband, I think it's great, if there is divorce papers in there as well.
Reply:sure, and while you're at it, send a really pretty blouse for him to wear.
Reply:My wife did that to me once.
I appreciated her thoughtfulness—I really did, but I didn’t know what the hell I was supposed to do with the flowers. I kept them on my desk that first day, and I just felt like a frickin idiot having them there. I don’t like to draw a lot of attention to myself, and that’s all those things did—draw attention to me. I put them in our break room, and left them there until they died.
Send your husband balloons instead.
Reply:It depends on the guy. We all have our "love language." For me, an internet card from my wife telling me how much she loves me is far greater than getting some flowers. Think about what your husband likes the most. Too often, we give people things that we'd like to get ourselves.
Reply:I would be embarrassed by the flowers. I don't want no stinking flowers.
Reply:Don't send flowers, that's more of a girl thing. Balloons maybe, but no flowers.
Depending where he works and with whom, you could send pizza, bagels, or something like that. A birthday cake might work best and be the most appropriate.
Reply:I'm not a big fan of flowers in general. I appreciate the sentiment, but find some other way of expressing it please.
Reply:yes, just not real flowery------keep it simple
Reply:I don't care for flowers. They are lost on me. My wife loves them, that's cool. No, I would not want to receive flowers. Send me food or drink maybe. Just not really a guy thing. Maybe some guys would like that, but not me.
Reply:No, it's gay. We prefer Strippergrams.
Reply:I wanted to do that for my husband also, but just wasn't sure it was a very good idea. I compromised with a basket of sliced, chocolate covered fruit arranged to look like a bouquet of flowers (you really have to see it). He loved it!! I believe the site is ediblearrangements.com.
Reply:It would be ok... but I wouldn't be thrilled.
Flowers don't have the same appeal as ...say... a gift card to an electronic store.
If you wanted something that would "display" your affection, anything that lights up, is electronic and flashes would probably be more appreciated.
But, hey, maybe your man likes flowers.
Reply:I'm not a guy, but i think it would be a very nice thing, and telling your husband that he is special and it would let everyone in the office know that he is special to you. So go for it.

Hey, Many of the top online floral shops deliver flowers internationally especially the USA and Canada. You can do it all online right now!
Go here. Book mark it in case you need to use it again.
Reply:I also live in Alberta. What part of Alberta are you wanting to send flowers to? All you have to do is go through a florist in Montreal and pay for the flowers there. They will allow you to pick the arrangement and tell them what you want on the card. They will contact the florist here and make it up and get it delivered for you. Lucky girl!!

Web sites offering Same day delivery of a birthday gift of ANY TYPE?
Or suggestions of getting a gift to someone in another state besides 1-800-flowers. Actually not flowers. and has to be under $50 bucks total!
Web sites offering Same day delivery of a birthday gift of ANY TYPE?
Amazon will send an email notifying the recipient that they have been given a gift certificate.
Reply:Amazon is great! walmart/asda all so do do same day delivery, you should check it out, its great!
Reply:I would try to contact a store in their area and see if they deliver.
You could also call a florist or FTD and see if they would be willing to pick something up to have delivered. They are going to up-charge you like crazy if they do it, but it might be worth it.
You can also send cookie bouquets or a gift basket.
Hope this helped...Good Luck!
Just thought of something else...what about internet gift certificates. I think you can get them from just about any online store, and I seem to remember paypal even has something like that. That way you could use the whole $50 towards a certificate instead of paying all the delivery charges you're going to have to pay by sending a gift. Just a thought.

How do you feel when your spouse completely forgets your birthday?
My husband forgot mine. I was really insulted. Not even a "happy birthday". Nothing.
I plan his birthday weeks in advance, and between my parents and myself, he gets hundreds of $$. We have been married for 4 years, and every year, my birthday is less and less important to him.
If he remembers, he goes out at the last minute and buys roses (I'm allergic to them, and he knows this, and i have told him the flowers I love, and he still buys roses).
He said that for his next birthday, I have permission to treat him badly and not buy him anything. That's ridiculous. I won't go down to that level.
How do you feel when your spouse completely forgets your birthday?
I hate to say it but men aren't known for remembering important stuff like that. BUT, since you actually reminded him, he can't use THAT excuse! LOL
My ex husband always forgot my b-day. We were together for 14 years. I would plan his b-day with great precision, give him the utmost love and attention on his b-day, starting first thing in the morning. But since he never really cared about my b-day, after 6 or 7 years I figured b-days must not be that important to him, so I tapered down on his "special" day.... limited it. Ultimately, on his last b-day with me he got 2 hot pickled sausages that are called "Hot Mamas." After all, it was one of his fantasies to have 2 hot women in his bed. Yes, I served them to him in bed. Maybe it was rotten but I wanted him to feel what I had been feeling for 14 years. Dismay, betrayal, lack of love and caring.
Reply:I agree! For my 30th my guy did nothing, worked that day, threw an ipod nano on the table, in the bag he bought it in, with the receipt and murmured Happy Birthday. Like you I planned his in advance buying him Dell speakers for his laptop, oh he got me a card but it was a "comedy" one that mentioned my breasts!
Men DO NOT get birthdays, I dont know why, they are afraid I think of really making an effort, going all out and then... you hate it and they feel like a massive failure, so they make no effort and rest assured their ego will be intact by the end.
I have spoken at length to my boyfriend and said that it hurts my feelings when so little effort is made and to please listen to what I would like... you know like no roses etc. Or that you will be deeply hurt and take it as an insult if he does not act on your advice.
You dont need to treat him badly to get back at him like you said, just be clear and make him aware it hurts you and it may cause you to fall out of love with him and want someone who cares a little more? Be brave! xxx
Reply:Why dont you have a make up birthday, i know it sounds silly but it mite make you feel better. It will aslo give you an excuse to have some fun with your husband. Have fun....and as the Mad Hatter says why celebrate one day, when you can celebrate 364 unbirthdays? Smile and enjoy your life together!
Reply:Thats Sad for you, but is he forgetful about other thing's ? If he is then I'd find away to remind him a couple day's before but if he just doesn't care then it's sad!
Reply:You should not let that worry you.
Just tighten up your realtionship.;
Reply:omg today is my birthday and my wife was mean to me on birthday and did nothing not even show love.
Reply:Being natural caregivers and nurturers its in our nature to go all out for the men in our lives, thats why it is so crushing when they dont do the same for us. Rest asured he didnt do this on purpose although that doesnt make you feel any better. Men just arent wired like us perfect creatures! Dont take it too badly. Who wants to be reminded they are another year older anyway? I stopped counting after 30!
Reply:You might think I'm going overboard, be he sounds very passive aggressive. Which is worse than cancer. It can't be cured. Maybe he's like this in other areas of your life. A birthday is a big deal, bigger if he forgets and makes little or no retribution. That says a LOT. You're right to be concerned.
Reply:this guy's a moron. No offense but I always try and make my wife's birthday special. We are on a budget but I'll make sure she doesn't lift a finger, that I cook a meal she like, be at her beck and call. I'll also get her a little gift or two but i try really hard to make it a special day for her. This year we were both sick so we postponed the festivities til next saturday.
Sorry to hear he forgets. Maybe you should forget his, forget to clean the house, forget supper, just start forgetting stuff and see who he deals with it.
Reply:Sorry to hear a bout that! Why not try forgetting to cook for a few days?! If he says anything say, oh, I forgot and maybe make something you know your husband doesn't like. Maybe he will get the hint.
Reply:he's a man.....it is not important to them....you do what you do for his birthday because you are a woman, it is important to you......why play games, a week before your birthday next year, remind him by mentioning where'd you would like to go out to eat.......
as far as the roses go.... he got you something then you complain, perhaps he just doesn't want to hear you complain so he does nothing.......
Reply:Perhaps he was just raised in a household where no big deal was made over birthdays. Apparently you have to accept him how he is and make your birthday what you want it to be. Treat yourself to something nice, go out to dinner, or do whatever would please you and invite friends or your hubby or both. Just because remembering that date isn't important to him, doesn't mean you cannot celebrate it any way you desire.
Reply:My husband had not "realised" it was my birthday and had made arrangements to do something else. Oh how he paid, he apologised and admitted he screwed up, so he was told to make it up to me, i got spoilt for 2 weeks not just on my birthday! He won't not realise again!!
Reply:Sounds like one of mine, I survived. Also forgot there's.
Reply:i also forgot my birth day
Reply:tell him it hurts you
Reply:Very shocked - because I dont have one!
Reply:I don't understand the big deal about Birthdays...and he is probably the same way. However, he should be willing to put forth effort to make you feel appreciated on your birthday - since it's important to you.
Maybe, at a time when you're not fighting or it's not your birthday you sit down with him and explain how you feel when he forgets your birthday. Maybe, next year remind him, "Hey, my birthday is in a few days, and it would be great if you could...." This may help him remember and he'll do something for you.
***Okay - I will edit this a little bit. In your original question you did not mention that you had told him. Are you nagging him about it? Are you giving him any reason to be irritated with you - so he decides your birthday is a great time to get back at you for something? Also - you cannot compare your Husband to your father. Your husband is not your father and you cannot expect him to treat you the same way your father did.
Reply:to be honest i would be devestated..............
Reply:I think that's really crappy of him. He sure does take you fro granted. No, that wouldn't fly with me. Not at all.
Reply:When this happened to me, I knew the jerk really didn't care it's so amazing to me what they can remember when they want to.
Reply:He's obviously extremely forgetfull when it comes to birthdays. Remind him a week before and put a great big notice up on the fridge with the words typed in large bold letters "Countdown to my birthday on ....... Forget at your peril!!" If he still forgets after this, divorce him.
Reply:But, you do have to go to that level. If you want him to see how it really feels then when his birthday comes around don't say anything. Go on like it is another day. Hard but true. Or next year when your birthday comes around go out and buy yourself something you want. Buy the flowers you like. Sorry but, if my husband showed up with something I was allergic too. He wouldn't make it in the door. Your husband hasn't forgot he is lazy and your letting him be. Turn about is fair play.......
Reply:Did he forget your birthday before you were married? If he did, then perhaps that is how he has always been. If he remembered your birthday when you were dating, but forgets now that you are married, there is something else wrong. I think that you need to open up the communication and ask him why he has trouble remembering an important date like your birthday, and why he buys you roses when he knows you are allergic to them. Men can become very self-absorbed when their wife does everything for them. It's not easy for them to reciprocate certain ideas and attitudes. You need to talk about this to him, making sure you are not being demanding. Tell him how you feel, and ask what his thoughts and feelings are. There might be stuff going on that you don't know about. Give him a chance to make things right.
Reply:Oh I feel bad for you.....I would be so hurt if my husband completely forgot my birthday.....a "happy birthday" or a card would have been great....but to forget it all together? That is oh so rude!
Reply:aaaaawwww....
Been there once, and I'm so sorry
it feels horrible!!
I think you should have a girl's weekend in Las Vegas for your next birthday
(and be sure to take pictures, including one of you with a boquet of your favorite flowers)!!
%26lt;3%26lt;3
Reply:You didn't tell him that your birthday was coming up because you wanted to play the victim, to see if he "loved" you. Some people are just bad with dates. Tell him that you love him and you are willing to accept late gifts. Tell him he can make it up to you....you want a nite on the town, and a wonderful present that shows how much he loves you (something with a lot of thought put into it) it doesn't have to be expensive, and a card with a special note saying exactly why he loves you. Some men just need guidance and advance warning. Tell him you will clear your schedule for next Friday nite and that will give him a week. Meanwhile, don't harp on what he didn't do just let him know how excited you are for the weekend. Then after he gives you that wonderful late birthday present, talk about it to your friends and family so he hears....brag on him a little.
Reply:oooooohhhhhhh........my husband knows better!!!!
SHAME ON HIM!!!!!
TIE HIM TO THE BED AND WHIP HIS BUTT!!
Reply:URG not my hubby but my "boyfriend" forgot mine! PISSED me off b/c his isn't until Nov and I already started planning his. SO I am trying to figure out if I should do the same thing to him that he did to me OR should I still go with the plans I had ( dinner , new jacket to match his motorcycle and a night of fun). THEN see what happens from there.
Reply:There's a bigger issue here than what you actually state.
You need to communicate to your husband how important it is to you that he celebrate your birthday. Make it clear on the calendars and ahead of time and reiterate that you're allegic to roses.
The bigger issue is that if he knows how important it is to you and still doesn't acknowledge it, that is showing you that he doesn't acknowledge what you care about or what makes you happy as being significant. If you don't have kids I would leave--that simple. If you do, go to counseling first.
You are right not to go down to that level and there are thousands of men with and without wives who remember their partners birthday every year.
I plan his birthday weeks in advance, and between my parents and myself, he gets hundreds of $$. We have been married for 4 years, and every year, my birthday is less and less important to him.

What is the best way to give flowers to a friend(girl)?
how do you give a friend flowers at a party for her birthday without making it uncomfortable or have anyone else thing it is weird or embarrassing for her
and what happens if they do
serious answers only please help
What is the best way to give flowers to a friend(girl)?
when u show up.. just give them to her.. like here, I thought these would make u smile and brighten your day..
also, if its a friend, dont get red flowers for her. maybe like pink or something fun. NOT RED. thats just setting yourself up for failure.
Personally.. id buy her mixed flowers, and stay away from the roses all together. she will smile when she sees them. or shes evil. one of the 2
Reply:If you show up at her party and give her a present, what could be more normal then that? If anyone gives you a hard time just say that's what we do in our family, all the ladies get flowers. I think it's a great idea!!

How do I find someones birthday using the internet???
I'm trying to find out my grandfathers birthday because I want to get a tattoo in honor of him and I want to incorperate his birth flower into it but I need his birthday in order to figure out what flower.
I CANNOT ask my family, they would not only not approve of the tattoo but would also be very upset that I would want to know anything about a family member that does not live in my respective house. (We're not a close family, we're just a bunch of people that happen to share a last name. And we're not allowed to talk about each other)
Is there a free way to find someones birthday using the internet that's more reliable than birthdaydatabase.com?
Thank you.

What to get best friend's boyfriend for his 21st birthday?
He got me flowers on my birthday and it was really sweet. We are friends too, and I would just like to get him something small and nice... Any ideas?
What to get best friend's boyfriend for his 21st birthday?
Just to make sure your gift doesn't compete with your best friend's gift, get him something he and your best friend can enjoy together - movie tickets, a gift certificate to a nice restaurant/bar, etc.
Reply:How about you and your friend take him to a bar and split the tab? Free beer is always a good thing! Especially on your 21st!
Reply:get him some body spray or callon
Reply:A Gift certificate or cash card to a nice restaurant.
He just might spend it on you. !!!! :)
Reply:Roses, Roses, Roses. Any guy will be "floored" who receives roses from a lady friend. Just make sure they are yellow, the color of friendship.
Reply:how about a cake that you can both share

Any good birthday gift ideas?
I'm working abroad and I would like to send my girlfriend something special for her birthday. I've sent flowers to her office before and I would like to send something different. I was thinking about a singing telegram or something totally off the wall like that. Ladies please help if you can.
Any good birthday gift ideas?
Unique art gift is the best present
I recommend photoartomation.com ( http://www.photoartomation.com/ArtWork.h... ).
These guys convert individual photo to Art. After you send them your photo they create a preview sample of your photo. It’s free. You can buy it if you like it.
I sent a digital photo of my wife (I wanted to give her a special present for Valentines Day) to photoartomation and they turned it into three gorgeous art samples that I could preview online. I had a hard time picking one because all three were really beautiful. Although their prices pretty high I was not disappointed because when I received my order the prepared artwork was much more impressive then online samples. And my wife was just speechless…
Reply:I recommend photoartomation. I used this company and was enjoyed the quality and exquisite masterpiece of artwork from them Report It
Reply:The preview examples look very nice. Having troubles to pick up the best. It is a birthday gift for my father. Thank You for your efforts. Report It
Reply:Your framed picture together
Reply:Send her a gift basket. They are really nice looking and can be inexpensive depending on where you look. Plus, you get a bunch of little gifts in one.
Reply:What about a ticket to come and visit you??
Or some sexy lingere that you can write in the card... you cant wait to see her in it :)
Reply:ok to the singing thing...does she live in the usa? do you have friends near her? do you have her friends numbers? get them all to her place to sing to her...plus, it's free, lol...sure, you could send a telegram and pay someone...but, I think it will be better from people she knows, or family! =). Heck, even if it's the police department...hehe =). just an idea...

Drying out flowers......?
I received roses and other types of flowers for my birthday and would like to know the best procedure for drying them out. I know some flowers are easier to make presentable than others.., for example, roses can dry out beautifully, while daisies do not look so nice. Also, I hear that you should spray them with hairspray to keep them from breaking. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

dry them out by hanging them upside down from the ceiling .

My husbands birthday is coming in a couple of says and i was wondering is it ok?
to send him flowers and a box of chocolates to work on his birthday is that just for women.please help.
My husbands birthday is coming in a couple of says and i was wondering is it ok?
I don't know about at work. It depends on how many people at work will see it and if they'll ridicule him.
I had a former girlfriend send roses to my home, and it was one of the nicest gestures I've ever received.
Reply:I want to commend you on the idea and the effort. Just the fact that you are thinking of doing something special is special.
I like the advice that others have suggested, plan something special for when he gets home.
For the office, why not send him to work with a card. Write some sweet things in it (don't rely on Hallmark to express your feelings). Tell him to open it at work. It will brighten his day. If he feels open about it, he will display it. If not, he will keep it in his desk and look at it throughout the day. Either way, it will have the same desired effect.
Reply:I would say no. Even though today, many people are OK with different things. But why would you subject your husband to such ridicule at his office or place of work. Send him a nice picture of yourself for his desk, or some tickets to his favorite team.
Reply:Armani G, I would prefer a romantic dinner for two, followed by exercise...if you know what I mean.
Reply:Man it up just a bit to be safe. Trade the flowers out for a delievred lunch and maybe gourmet jelly beans in lieu of chocolate. Just a suggestion though, send what you think is right (He better send you some good stuff like that :D)
Reply:I got flowers at work one time....
all the ladies were envious...but I got ribbed for it for months...
I would vote "no" on flowers......
it is a nice gesture.... depends on if he can take the ribbing....
Reply:I think it depends on his work but if it is an office place/environment and he wont get harassed too much because he works in a mature office then yes. I think a nice arrangement, not roses, is cool, I have done it and if he likes chocolates that is the thing to do. I think guys like to be surprised with niceties too. Have fun.....S
Reply:tickets to a game
Reply:honestly guys dont really care about that kinda stuff. just be home when he gets there wearing a long coat with nothing under it. then open it slightly to show what is NOT there. HE will appreciate that more and you can both enjoy his present.
Reply:I would opt for a balloon maybe rather than chocolates and flowers.
Tho I would be ecstatic with any gift from my sugarlicious.
Reply:you could send him flowers and choclates if you want to but that would be like him buying you a lawn mower for your birthday.
If you want to send him something, there are some places that will do a basket of mens stuff like boutique beers and wine and stuff like that. You can still send him something, but he will probably like it more.
Reply:Just send him some balloons at work and be waiting naked when he gets home. Most men don't care for flowers and chocolates. They just want food and sex :)
Reply:I don't think guys really like that kind of display of affection. He would appreciate a card letting him know what the night has in store for him...lol

Need a nice name for a company specializing in Flower, birthday, wedding planning, cakes, gift , happy occasion
The naming of your business could be one of the most important decisions you will make. A name's originality and legal availability will create a real asset value of its own, as it becomes marketed and gains market acceptance.
The name you choose will become the focal point of all the benefits and features that relate to your business. Customers will be able to find and refer others to it in the future.
Since any names that are suggested here may already be owned by another party, I wanted to go a different route...
I suggest either hiring a name creation firm or get together with your friends and/or family and throw a "name party" %26amp; have everyone bounce some ideas around. Compile a listing of names that you like the best. Once you have that list, do as much free research as you can before you delve into comprehensive research.
I listed some links where you can do some preliminary name checking. However, please be aware that this is merely scratching the surface of what's out there.
Only comprehensive research will tell you if the name is truly available. But, these links are free %26amp; a great place to start, so I'd try them out first.
Comprehensive research consists of looking at marks that are similar in Sound, Appearance or Meaning in the pending %26amp; registered Federal AND State trademark files as well as the US National Common-Law files.
There are other sites that offer free searching capabilities in conjunction with their commercial services, so I'm not able to post those links due to the Yahoo! TOS. You'll also want to check domain names %26amp; yellow pages, so simply do a search for "free domain name search" and "national yellowpages" and the appropriate links will pop up.
Hope that helps! I wish you much success %26amp; happiness in all your ventures!

Guys What would you like to get from your girlfriend for your birthday?
Of course I want my boyfriend's birthday to be rememorable and not just like every other day. All of our days together are wonderful, so what can I get him or what could I do for him to make his birthday a special day for him. I doubt a guy wants flowers or an e-card lol So, tell me guys what would you like if it were your birthday?
Guys What would you like to get from your girlfriend for your birthday?
you know what I want? I truly wish that I could just spend the whole day together with my gal who lives 700 miles away...alone. Just me and her...time with my girl is all I ever want...the whole day..just us....go to somewhere romantic in nature...like a lake or a hike up the mountain. then cuddle up on the peak with blankets on and watch the sunset go down....that's probably what I'm gonna give to my gal...I'm sure that would satisfy your lad well enough.
Reply:how about, a F-16 Falcon, that will do it for me.
Reply:Well, if you are having an intimate kind of relationship, then, everyone should have sex on their birthday.
And...Guys don't get flowers often. In my lifetime, I have only gotten flowers once for my birthday and I thought it was very cool!
Reply:Mine helped my best friend set up an overnight trip to a local casino, and then I got to hang out with all my friends and her, which was pretty cool.
Reply:Another girl would be nice.

Reply:Kind of depends on his interests. Doesn't have to be anything big or expensive. Just think about the things that he says, things he likes, and go off of that. Like I said, it doesn't have to be anything big...the small things, show that you listen, that you care, and should be the best gift he ever receives, one that comes from the heart.

Reply:Call a local florist and tell them what you want. You can give them your card number right over the phone. You can also do this online at places such as 1-800-flowers, as most accept debit as well, but they are very expensive!
Reply:easy. go to a local florist and have them deliver it ffor you, pay cash. if the recipient lives out of the area, you're in trouble unless you have a credit card. To send out of the area you must have a credit card. If not, go in person, pick out what you want and they'll deliver it after.

Birthday gift for my 17 years old little sister?
Does anyone have any idea what to get to my sister? I am in college away from home, and my little sister's bday is coming up. I have always gotten her cakes, teddy bears, flowers, and chocolates. But now that I am away from home, what should I send her?
Birthday gift for my 17 years old little sister?
Have you ever given her a personalized teddy bear or anything personalized? If not I would checkout http://www.corporatelogoembroidery.com I think it's the site for a company called University Fashions. I've used them in the past to get embroidered gifts and have always been happy with the final results.
Good Luck!

Reply:yeah, or maybe an itunes gift card or something...music is always good

My mum loves gardening, what birthday present can I get her for her garden?
Whay not buy her a small tree - that way, she can plant it in her garden %26amp; it will last forever!
Other than that, you can buy some really funky Pink garden tools these days!!
Reply:Get her a tree. Something that blooms in the fall, like a Sugar Maple or something. They are really pretty. Or you could get her like some herbs for her to grow like mint or something. ;)
Reply:Make your outdoor landscaping beautiful all day long by installing low voltage lighting. Low voltage lighting is sold in many styles and stress important parts of your home or garden at night. Outdoor lighting will also increase the safety of walking on your walkways after sunset. Low voltage landscape lights are simple and safe to install even if you don’t know anything about electricity.
Reply:try this site: http://www.bountifulbaskets.co.uk/garden... They have lots of gifts in the price range youre looking for. She's your mom, so i'm sure she will appreciate anything you buy her!
Reply:Get her a really good pair of seceteurs - believe me, she will appreciate them.
Reply:MY DAD BOUGHT EXTRE GRASS TO LAY OUR NEW GARDEN, IF U WANT TO COLLECT IT U CAN HAVE THEM FOR FREE
THERE ARE ABOUT 40 ROLLS, HE BOUGHT THEM ON SUN, ARE ARE STILL OK FRESH
Reply:buy her a nice shrub that will last forever.
Reply:Plants, gardening tools, garden stones, lawn figures, there all kind of things out there. Go to your local gardening store and look around. Some of the ornamental things can be bought at the dollar stores, Big Lots, etc.
Reply:Well I love to garden and I have to say I would love a new gardening bag with the tools.... I have had mine for a few years and they get old and gross..... Not sure what kind of tools your mom has but a new tool bag with tools and maybe a new pair of garden gloves.... that stuff gets so old and nasty and its not something you think about going out and getting.... Good Luck Tell your mum Happy Birthday!
Reply:A voucher for a local garden centre - then she'd be able to get what she needs and wants.
Reply:Many Fragrant ideas:
1) Buy her a Jasmine (Jasminum Auriculatum) flowering plant
2) Gardenia
3) Delphinium (Language of Flower meaning - Heavnely qualities)
or you can buy some garden tools - these are most important - perhaps ask mum what sort of tools she doesnt have.
Reply:Tickets for the Chelsea flower festival
Reply:A voucher was a good suggestion, as was a tree - you can sometimes get them quite cheaply.
Is there a flower that has a similar name to her's? Search on the internet.
Or I've seen some really nice gardening tools that have flowers decorated on them, they're in most gift shops at the moment and are within your price range.
Reply:A nice Hanging Basket of her favorite flowers or Ivys. Wind Chimes are also perfect accent to any garden.
Happy Birthday to your Mum!!
and Good Luck!
Reply:National Garden Centre vouchers. Any garden nursery sells them, but make sure there the ones you can use nationwide. Then you can help Mum choose her plants!
Reply:Some rare plants or flowers or a plant your mom really likes. Maybe daisies or lilies or tulips. Or maybe you could give her the seed of a Philippine mango so se could nurture it if she's not diabetic.
Reply:how about a nice miniature rose bush ? they are beautifull and come in so many colors now . good luck .
Reply:Why not a gift card she can buy what she needs or wants.
Reply:For my friends birthday who is also a very keen gardener I bought her a gift from Crabtree %26amp; Evelyn it was a painted flower pot with a pair of gardening gloves and some intense hand cream for after gardening cost 16gbp and she loved it.
Hope your mum has a lovely birthday and no matter what you get her she will love it
Reply:roses. There's this hybrid tea rose called "Mother's love". It's cheaper if u could get it bare-rooted.
If you can't find them in the nursery - buy her cut flowers. Ask the florist for help - and make sure to let the florist know if your mother is allergic to pollens. Attach with it a card that u made for her instead of buying one.
Reply:Depending on the age of your mum - she might appreciate one of those little stool things that she can kneel on while weeding etc, and it has a little arm on each side that you can use to help you get back up on your feet again. The stools are made out of plastic so are very lightweight, but also very sturdy.
I know that's a rubbish description but I can't remember what the thing is called. I got one for my mother a few years ago, she loves it, and uses it all the time. When she's not kneeling on it, she turns it upside down so that it becomes a little seat.

Since you have'nt seen her in about two years, why not give her yourself ! There's probably nothing more she would love than to see you.Even if it's for just a day or two, you guys could go out to eat and just enjoy yourselves.
Reply:I've always had the same problem... I never know what to get my mom for her birthday. I usually get her a chocolate and a teddy bear of some sort. Mom's know how much you care when you just give them a card. =)

Sending flowers in the Phils ?
I have a friend who lives in Quezon City and I want to surprise her with flowers on her birthday in September. I noticed on the Manila Times website that there are different companies like "Mahal Gift" and "Gifts2Pinas" that deliver flowers and gifts to places around Metro Manila. Can I trust sending flowers by one of these companies ?? Just because I live in Canada, but I want her to have a nice surprise on her B-Day. What do you think ??? I don't to use this company if there products are in bad condition or stuff like that.
Sending flowers in the Phils ?
My overseas friends use PinasGift.com all the time, you can definitely trust them. I've received quite a number of gifts purchased from their website. Here is their website:
Reply:Consider a mixed bouquet of daisies, lilies and wild flowers. This mixed bouquet is appropriate no matter what the occasion. Perfect for the "New" relationships. It simply lets that special someone know that you are thinking of them. A local florist can deliver the flowers to your recipient with a message card.
Someone need a pick me up-
A basket of Flowers or a flowering plant with a teddy bear is just the right touch to brighten someone's day! Perfect for someone who is having a bad day or doesn't feel well.
True Love-
Roses can represent many things. Red Roses have been long known for their association with LOVE. But don't feel confined to just red! If you know she likes pink, then send her 1 dozen pink roses. For special occasions, such as Birthday, Valentine's Day or Anniversary, make more of an impression by sending a spectacular 2 or 3 dozen roses in a vase. To be unique, send 2 or 3 dozen of a more rare flower, like calla lilies:) WOW! Add balloons and a bear for a real surprise!
When in doubt?
Ask the florist. They are the experts! Tell the florist what kind of personality your recipient has. Maybe even what colors they like. With your sentiment in mind, they can recommend the perfect arrangement. Read more tips : http://online-articles.org/relationships...
Include a Message?
Always include a message with your flowers. Even if it is simply, "From, John" or "Love, Phil ". It can be very frustrating to some people to receive a gift without knowledge of who sent it. Simple sentiments like?.. "Just wanted you to know I am thinking about you today" or " Thank you for being you" are appropriate. Of course, If the gift is being sent for a particular occasion, mention that. For example, "Happy Birthday to a Beautiful Woman- With Love, John ". Perfect! Simple and Sweet!
Add something special-
Florists often have many things that can be added to your floral arrangement to make it extra special. Plush Animals, Mylar and Latex Balloons and Chocolates are just a few of the items that can compliment your floral gift!
Timing-
Remember to order early before busy holidays, especially Valentine's Day! Most florists suggest ordering a week before if possible. This will ensure a better selection of flowers and timely delivery to your recipient.
Finally,
Don't order your flowers through a call center! These companies charge you a fee to process your order. Even if they tell you that they don't charge you fees, they will absorb a portion of your money, and then pass the order on to a local florist at a decreased value! Make sure you order your floral gift directly from a real local florist in the town you are sending them to. No Middleman, No Extra Fees! This will ensure that you get the best value %26amp; service! Your floral gift will be beautifully designed for presentation. Very impressive! Read more tips : http://online-articles.org/relationships...
Reply:try filgifts.com and myAyala.com. give them a call if your indoubt..
Reply:I suggest that you check with your local florist in Canada. Usually florists have some international organization, I forgot the name, in sending flowers worldwide...instead of going through those cheap advertised flower shops....Price may be steep but the quality of the flowers and the arrangement are good..not to mention the delivery. There are several flower shops here in the Philippines that are member of that florist organization like Beecheaves, Holland Tulips, Rustan's Flower Shop, etc. Hope it helps and good luck...

Reply:There is always risk but i suggest that you ask for photos of actual flowers delivered and a picture of your friend accepting the flower. I got one friend who used to deliver flowers in the Philippines being order from various countries and she does take pictures to prove the delivery.

It's my birthday tomorrow. Will you celebrate it with me?
In the 16 years we've been married my husband has never once surprised me on my birthday. No flowers, no cake, no present, no restaurant, no party, no nothing. Every year, I think it's going to be different but it never is. So will you celebrate it with me?

Reply:you got a cold hearted hubby there,so I will wish you a "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU,HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU" AND HOPE HE OPENS HIS EYES TO WHAT HE IS FORETTING,no fun celebrating alone on your special day. try returning the favor to him on his birthday, don't say a word to him and when he says he is goin out tell him "oh no you don't,you can stay at home like I did for my birthday." may make him mad but maybe he will remember next time.
It's my birthday tomorrow. Will you celebrate it with me?

What are some good gifts I can send for a birthday? See details?
My sister is turning 17 in January, and she lives across the country from me. What are some gifts I can send to her...flowers, cookie bouquets, etc that I can send through the mail for delivery at her school or job? Thanks!

cookie bouquet gets my vote! they are so yummy!!!
Reply:Every birthday means your sister is getting older! So, why don’t you “immortalise” her at 16 by getting a really cool-looking portrait made of her from her best photo? Just send the photo(s) to the professional and creative artists at http://www.paintyourlife.com and they will make very unique and classical-looking portraits or paintings out of them! You can send them instructions to send the portrait directly to her – with a personalised message from you!
The same company also has a studio for oil paintings reproductions. If you are looking for an affordable gift urgently, you can take a look at their 'stock on sale'. Visit http://www.oil-paintings-reproductions.c...

Ideas on how/where to order birthday gifts to be delivered?
i want to get my friend a strawberry cheesecake but i dont know who to order it from that delivers... and how do i know if its gonna get there in one piece or even taste good?
OR
maybe sending a gift box of decorated cookies would be a better idea?
i dont want to embarrass him at work with flowers and balloons so im leaning more towards food for him.
can u help with ideas on WHO to order from or ANY OTHER suggestions other than cheesecake or cookies?
(he lives in arkansas and i live in houston)
Ideas on how/where to order birthday gifts to be delivered?
Check on Amazon.com. You wouldn't believe the stuff they have now. A man I know just had a case of Hamburger Helper delivered to his younger brother (don't ask).
Reply:look up local caterers in his area, also try to find some bakeries online. If they have a decent website, look it over, give them a call if you have any questions. If they seem to know what theyre talking about and can deliver, I say go for it. It may be slightly difficult to find out whether the food will be good or not, but if theyre an established company, chances are they know what they are doing any your present should be well received!
Reply:here are a couple sites that you can order from.
http://www.cookiesandcrumbs.com/
http://www.cookiepots.com/Birthday.htm
http://www.cookiesbydesign.com/
Reply:Try Figi's. I order from there and I've never had a problem
Reply:I like to shop on eBay for unique things just have them ship it to him. You can e-mail back and forth so you could even get them to wrap it.
Reply:There are bakeries in Arkansas that you could call to place your order, that way the gift isn't going to be shipped, only delivered across town. I'd suggest some kind of coffee cake or strudel, unless he's really big on cheesecake. A strudel has less chance of looking like it has been demolished if the trip goes bad. :)

What can i get my mum for her birthday??
My mums birthday is next week and i really have no idea what to get her. I asked her what she wanted and she just said ''bubble bath'', but i always seem to get her smellys and chocolates which is getting boring now! I was thinking flowers cause she likes them but they just die. Please help me think of something different i can get her!
What can i get my mum for her birthday??
get her flowers slippers and chocolates or take her for a meal!
Get a big round basket with a handle and tie a pretty ribbon on the top.
Buy apples, bananas, grapes, oranges and some exotic fruit like passion fruit, pineapple, star fruits and fill the basket
Get a smallish box of chocolates and put that in the basket too with a little bottle of wine/champagne (they do single size bottles in supermarkets.
2)
Get a flowering plant/shrub for her garden or buy a planter and fill it fill of plants.
3)
Buy a pretty piece of jewelery such as a bracelet/bangle or a gold chain.
4)
Buy a set of picture frames and fill them with family pictures.
5)
Get her out of the house and spend the day cleaning it from top to bottom.
Reply:have you got any brothers or sisters who can chip in a bit of money so you can buy her a nice piece of jewelry or something? it doesn't have to be anything too expensive, and as your mum, she will probably love whatever you get her!
my mum's birthday was last week, and my brothers and i bought her a necklace for £40, which didn't work out as too much when we split up the cost.
that night i made the dinner and baked a cake for mum, they love it when things are home-made and she will appreciate it.
hope i helped :D
Reply:You could buy her a nice picture frame and look through some old pictures and frame it for her. The personal touch always beats how much money you can spend. Or make her something nice.
If you have some money to spend you could get her a massage/reflexology voucher which will cost around £30 or you could buy her a treatment like manicure/ pedicure form a beauticians. or you could take her out for a nice lunch/dinner - just the two of you!
Good luck!!

What kind of Birthday gift should I give my boss?
She is a chiropractor who is nicest person I have ever met. I have only been working for her for about 5 months. Patients love her and always give her all kinds of gifts: bells, keepsakes, ornaments, flowers, food, pictures, and just about everything. I want to give her something simple.. But not something that she already has hundreds of, stored in her basement :)
Any ideas?? I think she is going be 38. or 39.
Any help will be appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Mother's 70th Birthday will be at my home. How Can I Make it Unforgetable For Her?
My mother has a large family. I'm planning her 70th Birthday party at my home. She loves to garden -- and loves flowers. I've asked everyone to bring a "horticulture inspired gift". Besides giving everyone a photo album of pictures from her childhood to the present, what can I do to make it extra special for her?
My Mother's 70th Birthday will be at my home. How Can I Make it Unforgetable For Her?
If its not a surprise party, ask her to make a list of the 10 people she'd love to see at the party. Tell her other than immediate family, maybe you can track down a childhood friend or others she hasn't seen in a while.
Reply:Wow, that's really nice, I would just do all the tradional stuff, pictures, balloons, Maybe have each guest tell something fun that they remember about your mom, some time they spent together, a funny memory etc.
Maybe have your Mom tell her most embarrising moment in life. Give her opion of the most important thing in life.
Play music from her era, etc.
Reply:How about doing a "This is Your Life" theme? You have the photo album to incorporate into it. Have a great time. Would love to hear how it goes.

Anyone know where to find exclusove gift for a one year old girl baby for her birthday?
Pl suggest anything other than teddy bears, chocolates flowers cakes and somthin not very expensive?
Anyone know where to find exclusove gift for a one year old girl baby for her birthday?
You could name a star after her. I'm not sure what you consider expensive, but it costs around $50.00. What could be more special than that? Also, as follow up gifts in the future, they sell lockets that they engrave on it the person's name and exact location of their star. I'd say that's pretty cool.
Reply:you could get her something thats personalized like a dress or blanket something that she can keep forever.. found a great site that offers this they had tons of stuff on there for babies i would check it out

It's a bear that you autograph- I got one for my little girl for her 1st birthday and everyone at the party signed it for her. A big toy that mine liked at one year was the Peek N Play Eeyore- hard to find though- I had to get mine from ebay.
Good luck.

Any ideas on how to surprise a lady friend on her birthday?
So, a lady friends birthday is coming up, and I want to surprise her. Any ideas or suggestions?
She doesn’t know I will be in town, so that’s the first surprise.. also, I wouldn’t mind taking her out, but I am sure all of her friends have something planned… maybe sending flowers to her home? I dunno, that’s all I got, so I was thinking the brilliant people in Y!A could help me out..
Any ideas on how to surprise a lady friend on her birthday?
if you wanna send flowers, 1-800-flowers makes it easy and i love their prices. You can try to get free shipping if you go to http://clipurl.com/?IOM219 . just put in your zip code to see if free shipping is available in your area.
Reply:flowers to work?? then show up at her door. the only thing is if she is busy already you could potentially "ruin" her plans...or not get the alone time you maybe wanted. flowers are overrated tho...get her something to remember YOU and that night...
Reply:Have a stud jump out of a cake.....
Reply:You coming in and her not knowing is going to be a great suprise. Guys can never go wrong with flowers as well.
If your going to be in town for more then one day then take her on a pic-nic, or if your by the beach grab a pizza and go eat it at the beach at night and just watch the stars and listen to the ocean. Are theyre any local bands playing thats a nice time too. To really get to a girl is to do something unexpected, something out of the norm. We cant tell you how many times weve gone to dinner and a movie, just know its ok to change it up a bit. :) But then again im sure anything you do is going to be great! Good luck!
Reply:I read this in a book once. Set her computer so it turns on after she wakes up. Then set the screen safer to have a UFO on it. Then make creepy noises. When she runs in the kitchen you and friends yell surprise.
She may freak out ALOT, so just asure her it was all set up.
It was in a new york state 6th grade english book. Try and track it down for help
Reply:If you need another cute gift idea, these personalized soaps from soapcard.com might do the trick. They make romantic heart shaped soaps with your photo and personalized message embedded inside. I got one for my boyfriend and he loved it. You can write all kinds of funny stuff. My boyfriend thought it was super cute, .the "Think of me when you're feeling dirty" soap was the one he loved the most.
Reply:This takes alot of work but I read a book a few years ago and this guy got a female friend a gift and the gift was not one of great value but the time he took is what made it special. See he knew her for years and he knew a bunch of corny things about her so he made a book reminding her off all the dumb stuff she did and the end was something like its a miracle you made to be then the age of the friend. Then he knew things like what shoes clothes lotion she liked so he went on line and printed all types of coupons so she could enjoy her everyday things at a discount. I thought that was very special it did not cost him a cent but the effort showed alot anyone could go to Victoria secret and have other people do the work. I hope this helps
Reply:Stop by the jewelry store and pick up her favorite kind of jewelry, then get flowers and let's not forget the high class chocolates and a teddy from VICTORIA'S SECRET, the girls in the store will be glad to help you pick out something!
Reply:Flowers are nice, but a helium balloon bouquet lasts longer and makes a bigger show. You can also get presents "wrapped" inside a huge balloon. Some really decadent chocolates are always nice and champagne goes so well with chocolate.....
Reply:Contact her best friends or family and join in their plans. Add your happy face to the whole group. Don't try to take her away from them. Bring flowers to the get together if that is appropriate. Bring an invitation to some activity she likes for a few days later and let her chose who accompanies her, in case she doesn't want to go alone with you.
:-) Good luck!
Reply:pop out naked from a cake
Reply:surprise her the night before and have a movie night or just drop by and say were going to the movies
Reply:i would send the flowers with a card attached asking her to dinner to her favorite restuarunt without telling her who you are, just tell her she already knows you, but its been a little while since you have seen each other.take her to where you and she met for the first time if you can.she will like that.

What can I give my grandma for her 95th birthday?
I love my grandma, she lives with me. She is the the one that took care of me when I was little. She is very active and awear of everything. I have given her clothes, perfumes, flowers, but this birthday I want to make it special. Her birthday its on the 24th of this month.
What can I give my grandma for her 95th birthday?
I recently talked with an older lady that is a friend of mine and she told me about receiving a scrap book from her family with everyone's pictures in it. She absolutely loved it!!! It'll probably take a little time but I'm sure she's worth every minute of it.
Reply:Sounds like a very lucky Grandma to have a grand daughter like you. I was going to suggest you give her the gift of time but you may already be doing that too. Take her to a nice dinner with her best older friends then sit and enjoy the conversation. Older people enjoy conversation and sharing how things were when they were kids.
Reply:Spend an entire day with her. Just you and her. She will ABSOLUTELY love that.
Reply:A stripper! Bet Grandma ain't had her juices flowing in awhile, might do her some good!
Reply:The bar scene from talladega nights, will answer that.
Reply:its nice to gift her a rocking chair
Reply:I think you have already given her the greatest gift of love. She is very lucky to have someone like you in her life. If she is tight for money why not offer to purchase some of her medications or special need items. Ask her what she'd like.A good book is a great idea too, or how about a gift certificate to the beauty parlor. That always works for my mom, she is 78.
Reply:You could buy a big nice picture frame and put family protraits of different events and things for her. It could be of your family, her, and/or everyone else in your immediate family. She would love that. It will be a gift filled with memories and love.
Reply:i think so you should give her a cassette of old songs or else you should give her something that she loves the most or that something that she have lose .

Any ideas for a birthday cake for my daughters 1st birthday next week?
I'd love to make her cake, something a little more than an iced sponge cake would be good, but I have no idea where to start!!
Although I am reasonably proficient in the kitchen, I am by no means an experienced cake decorator. Does anyone have any good ideas (with instructions please!) for a simple but effective cake? I was wondering about perhaps the hedgehog cake that was so impressive when we were younger... or a duck, or a ladybird would go down well with my daughter. Or a flower, seeing as her name is Daisy!
Pennies are limited at the moment, so buying fancy cake tins is out.
Many thanks for your ideas!
Any ideas for a birthday cake for my daughters 1st birthday next week?
If you look in local directory you will find cake makers/decorators.Most will rent out cake tins so you could rent a teddy-shaped tin etc.
Reply:goto a cheap supermarket and buy a cheap one and then put extra tacky pinkicing on it to look like you made it. I did that for my daughters 1st.....or...better still....do what my sister does an get her nan to make one instead.
Reply:I would check on www.kraftfoods.com and use Kids Cake on the search. They have some really cute ideas for birthday cakes that are really simple and easy to make.
Reply:it's my sons 1st birthday on friday and i ordered a spongebob cake as he likes spongebob!i think a flower cake would be nice as you say her names Daisy.
good-luck and wish your daughter a early happy birthday!
Reply:make cupcakes and ice them with pink frosting. on the cupcakes, make a cute daisy flower with yellow and white frosting.
Reply:how about a simple lemon drizzle or something, you can make the decorations easily and it only has to be drizzled (hence the name of the cake)!
Reply:At craft stores or Walmart (craft section of coarse!) You can get the top half of a barbie doll.Make a round cake, like with a bundt pan. Once the cake is done and cooled, put the doll in the middle. You can use iceing and sprinkles to make her dress (Which is the cake). It's very cute! My aunt did this for her daughter's 1st!!!
You can also find great ideas at bettycrocker.com
Reply:Just a idea if you have a tesco's near you they make birthday cakes for you. All you do is take in a picture and it gets done for you, but have a look first at what they do and i dont think it was that expensive...... Just a idea
Reply:my girls love strawberries and the color pink. can't go wrong with a box cake if you are new to baking. get a strawberry cake mix and you can either get a white frosting and decorate with sprinkles(always a hit) or colored sugar, or even some cut up strawberries, or you can go pink on pink(pink frosting) and do your own combination decorations. just remember it's her 1st so any cake you put in front of her will make her just as happy and isn't that what counts?, believe me,the amount of money you spend does not.
Reply:Congrats FiFi :)
Try looking at these cakes...I'm sure you could improvise some, but they have great ideas...
You must look at this site first...I think you will find everything you need to make her the bestest first bday cake ever :) They also have such fun games and invitation ideas to make it a total theme...and it's all do-it-yourself things......kudos especially to M%26amp;M's for this site....(try looking at the kraft foods site too...they have nice ideas as well)

Reply:what is really good is a neopolitan layerd cake. First you cook a chocolate cake. let it cool and then put a vanilla cake in. while the vanilla cake is cooking you put anykind of icing that you like. take out the vanilla cake and put a strawberry cake in. while that one is cooking you put your favorite icing ontop of the vanilla and carefully put the vanilla cake ontop of the chocolate and put your favorite icing on that one. then you take out the strawberry cake and you can make a design but what is really good is putting vanilla icing and sprinkling strawberrys and chocolate chips ontop!
Reply:This is a great cake for a little girl. It is a daisy cake and it has a simple recipe and no special cake pan required. Here is the link...I think it would be perfect and it will impress your guests too!!!
Reply:Yay hedgehog!! I still remember the one my mum made me when I was small. Keep it simple and don't stress over it.
Hedgehog is probably easiest, is cheap %26amp; so cute. And really at 1 it's more for you %26amp; rest of family than the little one - she'll like the wrapping paper best!
Don't forget to take a photo.
Reply:For my children's get togethers I always go to www.nickjr.com

Reply:How about you make cupcakes instead or there are places now that make cupcakes and place them side by side to form a shape of cake before icing. Then when they ice them , they do so in a way that it looks like a cake but it's not, it's really the cupcakes.
Reply:Fifi - can you cut out a paper pattern for the Daisy petals - take a round cake for the center and put the petals you cut out of another cake around it? You could frost/ice the center with yellow done with food coloring and the petals with white. I think it would be beautiful!!!
How about one of these for Daisy - one of our home cooking TV cooks here in the USA made it:
Sunshine Cake
Recipe courtesy Paula Deen
6 eggs, room temperature
1/2 cup cold water
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract, or both
1 1/2 cups cake flour, sifted
1/2 teaspoon salt, plus pinch
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
Orange Butter Cream Frosting, recipe follows
Orange peel or zest, for garnish, optional
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
Separate eggs carefully, putting whites in a large mixing bowl and yolks in another large mixing bowl. Beat egg yolks until light and foamy. Slowly add the water. Gradually beat in the sugar, then vanilla and/or almond extract; beat until pale and thick in texture (total beating time can be as long as 7 minutes). Sift flour again with salt and baking powder. Return to sifter and fold flour mixture into egg yolk mixture, sifting in a little at a time.
Beat egg whites gently until foamy. Add a pinch of salt and the cream of tartar. Increase the mixer speed and beat until they form moist, glossy peaks.
Pour the egg yolk mixture in thin stream over the entire surface of the egg white mixture, gently cutting and folding with rubber spatula, making sure everything is completely folded. Pour into an ungreased 10-inch round tube pan with a removable bottom. Draw a thin spatula gently through the batter to get rid of any large air pockets.
Bake on the second rack from the bottom of the oven for 1 hour. (The cake tends to fall a small amount after 50 minutes, so do not worry.)
Invert pan onto a rack and let cool out of the pan for 1 1/2 hours. Frost when cake is completely cooled. If desired, garnish cake with orange peel or zest.
Orange Butter Cream Frosting:
2 sticks butter
2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Orange juice
Combine butter and sugar in a medium bowl. Add just enough orange juice to thin the frosting to a spreading consistency.
Reply:This may not work for her first birthday and if you're on a budget at the moment, but it's a good idea to keep in mind for future birthday ideas. When I was a little girl, my mom was famous for her cakes and she would make us a cake that showed whatever we were really into at the time....My Little Pony, Donald Duck (when I turned 2), Mickey Mouse, whatever. But she also made us little girls. They sell cake pans that are shaped like up-side down bells and all you do is make the cake itself in that shape and buy these little half Barbie things. Picture a Barbie body with a large tootpick instead of legs (she's cut off at the waist). You can use your daughter's Barbie clothes (or buy cheap ones) to cover her top, then decorate the cake however you want. You make her look like a princess, or a bride, or just like she's wearing a pretty dress. I've even seen one that looked like a mermaid sitting on a rock. You'll need to buy cake decorator tips and either buy, or learn to make, the stiffer icing needed for that kind of project.
Go to your local arts %26amp; crafts store to find all of the supplies and most often, the pan comes with decorating ideas. I made a bride for my best friend a few years ago for her engagement party and it was a big hit.
Good luck and Happy Birthday, Daisy!
Reply:you can make a bunt cake and its easy and fun to decorate you can even stick a barbi in the top middle part you might have to take of its legs though thats what my mom did for my cousin
Reply:Make loads of rice crispy buns. Use what ever recipe you have.
Make a conical out of thick paper.
Using glaced icing, icing sugar and water spread on bottom of bun cases and starting at the bottom of the conical layer the buns until you reach the top.
Decorate which party poppers, popped away from child, and drape over buns.
Did this for my daughter's first and it had many compliments as it looked wonderful but was actually very easy to make and totally stress free.

What you gonna feel when you give a flowers to someone and just in front of you she give it away to someone.?
I gave a flower to my boss for her birthday and at same day is also her friends birthday she just change the card and give it to her in front of me,
What you gonna feel when you give a flowers to someone and just in front of you she give it away to someone.?
I'd probably feel a bit insulted if she did it directly in front of me. What she does with it behind my back is none of my business but at least have the tact to give it away when I'm not looking.
Reply:I'd feel I had a rude, insensitive boss and would never ever give her a gift again.

and what an insult!
I would start looking for another job.

Reply:What a bit*h! I think I'd pour the juice from a tuna can in her desk garbage pail REAL soon!
Reply:VERY technically, once you give someone a GIFT, it is THEIRS to do with as THEY wish.... So, TECHNICALLY, your boss had every right to do with them as she pleased.
HOWEVER.... while etiquette sometimes deals with technical stuff, it also deals with the feelings of others, which is a whole lot LESS technical!
Your boss was, at best, "insensitive" to your feelings by doing what she did right in front of you. I am just wondering how your boss "changed" the card without having it look like some "secondary thought" to the other person who received it... I mean, if I got flowers with a card that said, "Mary Katherine (Katherine being CROSSED OUT), Happy Birthday Anniversary (with BIRTHDAY being crossed out), From, Wendy Hilde (and Hilde is crossed out!)... now THAT's gross!
As for your feelings, yes, you should feel hurt by her insensitivity. Is this typical of her behavior? Might you start looking for a new job with a better boss?
Have a polite day.

What should I get my girlfriend for her birthday?
Me and my girlfriend have been together for a little over a month now and her birthday is in August. When august hits it will have been a little over our 2 month, so we haven't been going out for long but I really do like her and I want to show just how much I do. We're both 16 years old (well she will be turning 16) and I have seriously almost no idea what to get her. I was thinking flowers, but that is so so so cliche. Maybe flowers and a necklace? I know her favorite color is blue so maybe get her a large boquet of flowers and then get a necklace with a blue stone in it, that should be good... but I really don't know what to get. Any ideas anyone? and she is my first ever REAL girlfriend I've been with other chicks but never anything serious, so how should I go about giving her these gifts anyhow? I want to make it the most perfect moment ever for her. and I don't want to just hand her the stuff. So girls (and guys if you want) give me some tips here. Thanks.
What should I get my girlfriend for her birthday?
Well, depending on where you live, mabe you can take her to the beach and watch the sunset etc. Or, just ask her what she wants to get an idea.
Hope this helps!
Reply:I would ask her parents and see if you can get her a puppy or kitten!! =] MY BF got me a kitten one time as a present! lol
Reply:Find out from someone what she wants for her birthday and get her something she wants that you can afford. Or you could be romantic and take her to her favorite resturant and afterwards walk around outside under the stars then give her a necklace or something.
Reply:CHOCOLATE!!!!!and flowers!
Reply:You should go to the flower shop and ask them to make you a bouquet of blue flowers with red, and a cute card that you can even make your self, you can also get her a bracelet.
Reply:a silver locket that holds two pics,
Reply:make sure you wrap the gift. Pick out cute blue happy birthday paper and get more then one gift get lots of little things that would make her smile and that she would like and leave the gifts all different places so that she gets a gift every hour or something and then when you are with her give her the necklace and flowers so that way she will not exspect anything else from you when you see her. and a nice note or letter would be nice.
Reply:flowers candies teddy bear, yes the blue flowers and blue stone sounds great.
Reply:get her a bracelet or a necklace with a little blue stone in it or you could get he a piece of jewelry with something ingraved in it that would be so sweet
Reply:Get her a cute necklace - nothing too serious, since you have only been together for a month, but girls love jewelry and it would be really sweet. Go for sterling slilver or something similar.
Reply:When I was 16 my boyfriend at the time got me a bracelet and a giant hershey kiss. I loved it!
Reply:Your present idea sounds good! Ask her parents if you two can go out to eat or something.......she would probably like that!
Reply:Your present will be great, trust me she will love it. I wish my bf did that kinda stuff for me. GOOD LUCK
Reply:I would love if my boyfriend to me to the spa. We could get massages or facials together and that would be terrific. Any girl would love this and I'm sure she would be so suprised because usually men are so macho they wont go anywhere near a spa eventhough they are always welcome.
Reply:I really think the flowers and necklace idea is good..
