How do you think it is ok if a woman sends flowers to a man on his birthday?

He lives abroad and I would like to make surprise for him.

How do you think it is ok if a woman sends flowers to a man on his birthday?
ummm..will he like it? i guess some men like flowers.

why not try a cookie bouquet? its made of big cookies on sticks like flower stems. and the cookies have icing and can be in whatever shape u want. u can have it sent whereever.
Reply:i see nothing wrong with this idea... especially if he is your boyfriend or fiancee or husband... just nake sure that he likes flowers, though....
Reply:that would be cool.
Reply:There's no big deal
Reply:Sure, why not?

Do you think it's appropriate to decorate a birthday cake for an older man with flowers? (roses)?

I mean those buttercream piped roses? I say no, my husband says yes.. I am making this cake for my grandfathers 90th birthday

Do you think it's appropriate to decorate a birthday cake for an older man with flowers? (roses)?
I have been decorating cakes for over 30 yrs. and see nothing wrong with roses for men. Chocolate roses are a big hit with men.
Reply:Flowers are just fine %26amp; your grandfather won't mind a bit. God bless him on his special day!!!!
Reply:I wouldn't answer a definite no, but I would not answer yes. It depends on the cake colour, and on the way the roses look. If they're pink, then definitely not. If they're a more gender-neutral colour, then maybe. Also, they shouldn't give the cake a feminine air (haha - a little difficult if it's covered in roses.) It also depends how picky your grandfather is. SO--- it can be done but it might be tricky to get the right look.

What about doing another piping design - e.g. stars or another shape/pattern? Here's a good link for ideas:

http://books.google.com/books?id=80phOmm...

Hope that helps! I tried to be fair to both you and your husband :P
Reply:Girl, your grandfather is a lucky man! I'm sure he will LOVE anything that you make him, because you're doing it with love. My opinion about the flowers is GO AHEAD just ofcourse don't make them red lol... but go ahead, make something really nice for him on his special day. They could be colored with a metallic blue or n/e dark color that doesn't look too girly, but not sad either... and if not then just make it how you like it =]
Reply:Hi, I'm a baker for 26 years, and I love to decorate with flowers, it's nothing wrong with that but also depend on the kind of person, there are people that think that flowers is only for women, but it's only some people's preferences, there are also a lot of ideas that you can use in the cake, depending on what your grandpa likes, for example decoration about his hobbies, the profession he had, what was his kind of job, does he likes fishing?, etc. In this cases I prefer to make the cake in the shape of the age, for example make the number 90 on the shape of a cake, it's something original, or something with a man resting because he is retired, or on the cake you can make a top with the # 90, besides how one of the participants told you you can put stars on the decoration instead of flowers. You can have as many ideas as you can the important part is that you are making the cake for your grandpa and is with love. God bless you and good luck.
Reply:no, isn't there something he'd like better?
Reply:if they are done with more masculine colors, then i think it's okay, but it probably wouldn't be my first choice. what do you think your grandfather might like? for my great-uncle's 90th a few years ago, the colors matched his favorite college football team and the decorations included a drawing of the prominent building on campus on it; he really loved it! so i encourage you to have fun with the cake and go with something that he will really enjoy. birthday blessings to him!
Reply:Sure, it's fine and there is nothing wrong with giving flowers to a man also.

Is it appropriate for my boyfriend to send his ex girlfriend “friendly” flowers on her birthday?

They were together 10 years and have remained good friends (she lives across the country) and she still wants to get back together with him. What message does this send ex girlfriend? And more specifically, what message does sending flowers send?

Is it appropriate for my boyfriend to send his ex girlfriend “friendly” flowers on her birthday?
10 years? Damn sorry hes not over her at all. Cant compete with that.
Reply:Flowers are never friendly... A card is friendly. A phone call - with you in the room - is friendly.
Reply:If they are truly friends (and after such a long relationship, it's nice that they are), I do not think it would be inappropriate in that sense to send her flowers...

However, I think it is sort of inconsiderate of him to do so while he is in a committed romantic relationship. (especially if he's not getting you flowers that are at least twice as beautiful!)

And if the ex is also in a romantic relationship, I don't think her man would be very happy with it at all.

Even if the intent of the flowers is friendly, I think that a gift card to a restaurant or something general like that would be a lot more appropriate, if he insists on giving her a gift.
Reply:Oh dear oh dear.

Sending flowers is a bit much. Shouldn't she have someone else doing that? Like er, I dunno, her OWN boyfriend.

Tel your boyfriend off. He REALLY shoudn't be doing that. Especially if you know she still wants to get back with him.
Reply:In the category of appropriateness - you probably wrote 60 words and used the word "send" four times. It hurts my eyes to read this.

In the category of your boyfriend - there is a clear message that this should SEND to you. Do you get flowers on your birthday? I think he may care a little bit more than sending "friendly" flowers...
Reply:He should not be sending her flowers. Not only is it rude to you, it gives her false hope. Tell him if he sends them, you are done with him.
Reply:whoa! that's really inappropriate. if i were her, i would feel like he's telling me there's still hope.
Reply:I would be annoyed if I were in your situation. But if he wants to do it really, just let him.

Is It possible to have a bouquet of flowers sent to my house for my mums birthday?

I've never done it before though so i dont really know what to do- do i just look for a florist in the phonebook? Also...how much would it cost?

Is It possible to have a bouquet of flowers sent to my house for my mums birthday?
any flower shop that does delivery will take them to any house if its in your area intreflora is all over the country so they are more likely to send anywhere
Reply:Of course, people do this all the time.

Just call a florist and compare prices.

It probably ranges from £15-£100,000!!
Reply:If you live with her, just go to a florist and pick it out yourself. Much cheaper and more personal.

Get a vase if you would like or just bring them in stems.

Write what you feel about her on the note.

If you want to get them sent, there's too many options. Ask a friend if they have a florist they like or just order it over the internet.

The trouble with sending flowers is that they can send substandard flowers when you've paid for the best quality.

Who would ever know?
Reply:It certainly is possible! And a very sweet idea! Since you've never done this before, I'd say visit the florist. Tell them what you'd like to do and ask them to help you. Cost is usually based on size, type of flowers. If you get a "fancy" container it will cost more but if you'd like Mum to have a keepsake as well, go for it! They do arrangements in china tea cups and all kinds of containers!

Wish Mum a Happy Birthday!
Reply:yes it is possible.

if ure mum lives near u, then u cud go to a florist in ure area. and all u do is give them the address you want them to be delivered to.

its really simple..

it can depend on the prices, although, the bigger bouquets are obviously more expensive.

but u can have these things where they put flowers in little baskets and things like that.

its worth asking the florists about.
Reply:http://www.interflora.co.uk/
Reply:Marks and Spencers online do delivery to most the UK, at better priced than Interflora.

Just follow the link and chose what you want, they ask for your details, and you type the message you want to put in the card.

Prices start at 20 pounds.
Reply:go to a florist and they will make a bouquet for you and give you a price before they make it up , 15 quid approx . start to whatever you like .
Reply:If you do it on the phone you need a credit card....so go to the nearest florist in your town and arrange it in person then you can pay with cash.
Reply:Don't you have a local florist? Like when there is a funeral, where do people get their flowers? Phone book is the best way to find it.
Reply:yes you can my dad does it for my mom.

Do you think its bad to send yourself flowers for your birthday?

Or for any holiday valentines, christmas ect... What comes to your mind when someone sends themselfs flowers and say / act like its from someone else? Just curious.

Do you think its bad to send yourself flowers for your birthday?
If they act like they came from someone else then I don't think it's to cool. But, just to order flowers and have them sent directly to you is no big deal. I will often buy boquets of flowers for my home-no biggie.
Reply:It's a sign of the most incredible loneliness.
Reply:It's kind of desperate and lame, really. You don't need material things to be happy, whether they are from yourself or others.

Be happy in your own means and find happiness from what you do, not what you have.
Reply:yeah kinda desperate but if it makes yourself feel better then go ahead!
Reply:it means that u are lonely

It’s not bad that I gave a birthday flowers to my married friend’s wife today?

No unless he got her sumthin rubbish an she likes your flowers better.

It’s not bad that I gave a birthday flowers to my married friend’s wife today?
well, everything is due from your intention, as long your intentions is pure and not ill,. why not?

good deed, good action need a good heart--good intention.
Reply:No, it is ok to get someone else flowers. But always ask the husband if it is alright to get her flowers, that way he can get her something really cool so he is the hero.

What type of flowers would make a good birthday gift for my girlfriend?

White and Red Roses will do just fine....Good luck brother.

What type of flowers would make a good birthday gift for my girlfriend?
hey beautiful

im sure its not the brand of flowers that will make her happy but itll be you...... so whatever you get her will make her happy... good luck !!!
Reply:Flowers shouldn't be used as a gift per se. They should be used as a way to tell the other person that you love her and are thinking about her. You should definitely give them to her, but don't let it be the only thing you do. Depending on your depth of affection for her, the type of flowers with change. My boyfriend had to buy flowers for my birthday only ten days after we'd been dating. He got me pink roses in a heart shaped vase, because I love pink and hearts. We've been dating now for 3 1/2 months and I still remember those roses.
Reply:well the flowers usually accompany the gift.. but orchids are my favorite they are beautiful and exotic... im always impressed if I get these from a man
Reply:This is a personal question, you need to find out what her favourite flowers are.

a lot mentioned tulips, I don't like them.

Calla lilies are beautiful, roses is a classic, I love birds of paradise or a nice mixed bouquet is a always a winner too.
Reply:It depends on several things...

How long you are dating for... how much you know her....How does she like.. but above all, put so much love when you but it. I personally should like only one red or white rose and some little but "touching" gift , that shows her how much you love and know her
Reply:Calla lilies...

Sentimental and sweet. You probably enjoy a nice walk on a quiet beach with your girl.

5-6 of them tied together with a ribbon, or hemp rope.

Wildflowers...

Adventurous, and out going. You're probably not interested in the mundane.

The more colorful the better.

Roses...

Traditional. You're probably a "dinner and a movie" type of guy.

No less than a dozen, or you'll just look cheap.
Reply:i would terribly appreciate and find it fabulous if my bf of anyone else, collected some flowers from somewhere and brought them to me instead of buying them! it will be really nice! i do it often, i go to Marina Dbayeh and collect some purple and yellow flowers and take them to mom!
Reply:Orchide

Tulipe

Roses
Reply:In my opinion... Give her a good perfume and only one white rose. More romantic.
Reply:ay.. ok I'm back and I apologise cause I had problems with my computer...

Now the roses!! red, white, pink.... Red are the best and tell the flower person who's arranging it not to put so much of the weird stuff that are not needed...

Happy Birthday to her
Reply:Red, Yellow, White, or Pink long stemmed roses.
Reply:flower..r u sure?

Anyway,i like tulip..it looks good..ur girl might gonna like it..Roses are too common now..

and its a good thing to make a change for a while lol...
Reply:I love tulips. Thanks Itay ;D

Debating whether or not to send birthday flowers?

should I send my ex girlfriend flowers on her birthday?

I have seen and read all of these other stories, but mine is a little different. I had dated my ex for 3 years, on and off, and now she lives 500 miles away. We have not dated for a year or so, but we have attended weddings together recently. The situation is this, she always calls me on my birthday, or comes to see me, regardless if we are dating. I could go 5 months without hearing from her, but on my birthday, I always see her. She says that we have tried dating in the past, and it hasnt worked. But she goes to the weddings, makes comments about how our wedding would occur, if it did. We end up fooling around, but then she leaves, and I do not hear from her for months. Its now her birthday and I was wanting others opinions on whether I should send her flowers on her birthday? Im tempted to send them, but again I dont want to waste my time. We always seem to get back together, whether its 1 day, or.. Now she lives far away, and I will not see her until she wants to see me.

send them. she'll at least know you care, but expect nothing in return. just know they'll bring a smile and help make her day.

I want to send my mom flowers for her birthday.?

does anyone know any places where they will deliver them at a low cost? she loves sunflowers. under $25

I want to send my mom flowers for her birthday.?
The least expensive way I have found to have flowers delivered is to call a florist in the town in which your Mom lives. Look for the names/numbers of the florists on the internet and call direct. You cut the "middle man" fees that way.
Reply:That is so sweet!
Reply:Sorry cant help with the flowers But your Mum should be proud she has a lovely caring daughter

My mums birthday is on friday and she wants some flowers. Do you have any ideas?

Flower experts get ya green fingas out tonight and help my mum have a funky 45 th birthday!!!!!

My mums birthday is on friday and she wants some flowers. Do you have any ideas?
I would get her a few potted plants like orchid, african violet or mini rose bush that way it lasts for a long time instead of cut flowers from the florist!
Reply:Have her favorite flower(s) sealed in a glass container. This way they will be preserved whereas fresh flowers only last a few days. Most of the time the memory of fresh flowers pass away after they die but a preserved flower last for years.
Reply:Go to a florists' shop and look at the flowers they have in stock. Find some flowers that you really like, and pick a color that is your mothers' favorite. I pick out flowers that I like, then ask the florist to make an arrangement with them. They will fill in around the flowers with fern or other appropriate materials.

You can ask which flowers are really fresh, that way they will last longer after your mother receives them. Roses in pastel shades are really nice, but tend to not last very long. Carnations or Snapdragons last a long time if they are fresh. There are so many new flowers on the market these days that there are many choices.

You can also have the plants put in a vase of your choice. That vase can be anything that will hold water. A coffee mug, tea cup, beer stein, crystal bowl, or anything else will work, fancy or not. The "vase" will last for a long time after the flowers have faded away, and can make a nice keepsake.
Reply:Buy her a dozen of multi-colored daisies. I've seen them in pink, blue, green, orange - just about any color. Very funky. Very cute.
Reply:mums for mum
Reply:yeah get some money and go to the florist buy some flowers and get them delivered.

failing that go nick some out of someones garden arrange them nicely in a vase put a nice ribbon round them and then give them to her.
Reply:if u really love Ur mum than gave him rose in many coloUr at least 3 colour or 8 colour

cause rose show your love to ur mom an 3 wish for a prosperity for our mum an 8 will bring him happiness so hope your mum will get full of love birthday with prosperity's among her
Reply:Not roses, they died so quickly, so the pleasure is short. (Pink) Lily is an absolutley fantastic flower, they open up in a vase and the smell in the entire room is so sweet. People not only admire the flower, but also the beautiful smell. A tip is when the flowers open, pull off the red pollen sacks, as they can easily stain and this also makes the flower last longer. If possible, change the water daily, and in that way the flowers can last up to 2 weeks. This was the flower of the french royality. I hope your Mum has a fantastic birthday.
Reply:I would be thrilled at any time to recieve a hand picked, wild flower bouquet. A monster big one.

Can you french braid? Try doing daisies and make her a crown....contact my avatar for the "finishing" secret. When it begins to wilt, just toss it in a container of water for a while.

How about buying her favorite potted perennial?

How about a belated birthday susrprise from SC? Have cuttings, will mail them to her.

What a beautiful young person you are.
Reply:Yes. Go out and buy her some. She won't care what they are, she will just be happy to receive them.
Reply:Rudbeckeas will bring the summer back for ur Mum.
Reply:If money is in short supply you get a good choice of flowers at Tescos and I saw some orchids at Lidle to day
Reply:My daughter buys me bulb kits. I have lots of fun with them because I am a gardener. If your moms like to garden, I think she will like these:

http://www.redenvelope.com/re/gifts/prod...
Reply:I think you should ring the florist, they normally ask you what colours your Mum will like and then they normally come up with something spectacular. I always think that it's really nice to ask the florist to deliver a bouquet to the door because it's always such a wonderful surprise. It costs a bit more but it'll be well worth it just to see the pleasure on your Mum's face.
Reply:Potted mums are ideal.
Reply:orchids are nice happy birthday mum.

Can anyone recommend a good florist in Connecticut area to deliver flowers for a friends birthday on Saturday?

I am ordering from the UK, online, to be sent to a friend who is studying at Yale, and it's really hard to figure out which floristy is good for fresh flowers, stylish displays and delivery from the websites. I'm thinking of something like 12 red roses, a purple themed bouquet or a purple orchid in a pot and our budget is around $60. Thanks.

How to make flowers flower for tomorrow its my mothers 50th birthday!?

I have some flowers to give a part of a present for my ma's birthday, except they have opened out yet, they are still in there buds ( sorry about the terminology i'm not familiar with the subject :s) Is there anyway to make them open by perhaps adding something to the water? Thanks to all the answers they will be appreciated :D

How to make flowers flower for tomorrow its my mothers 50th birthday!?
Half 7up and half tap water. Put them in a vase with that mixture tonight before bed.
Reply:Besides some of the other suggestions, and since you didn't mention the type of flowers, I'd recommend heat. If it's a sunny day where you are set them in the sun and make sure it's stifling hot around them.
Reply:it can't be open except by force cause its already cut, i don't know if there is any substance that you can put in the water to open it.
Reply:Gently rub your thumb over the top of the buds i promise they will open, works brilliant on roses, also warm water because most flowers have been frozen.x.
Reply:I'm almost positive it wont flower by tomorrow. Why not find a poem online about a mothers love and how love grows and tie that in with the flower.

What is the value of flowers as birthday gifts at present???

Flowers say a lot. They were used as birthday gifts. Now a days i dont find them in the rows of jelling gifts. The days are changed. What do you think??

What is the value of flowers as birthday gifts at present???
I absolutely love flowers as a gift for any reason.
Reply:i think the best bd gifts are when you are with your friend or loved ones!
Reply:If the reciever likes flowers then its a nice gift. If you go to the trouble of finding out what their favourite flowers are then its a really great gift.

I buy myself flowers every week as a gift to myself, they make my home feel really nice, occasionally my man friend buys me flowers but he knows better than to turn up with a dozen red roses which would signify his guilt. LOL.
Reply:most guys are stupid, and give flowers when they did something wrong, so they think if they give them when they haven't, it will make it look like they did :D

I love to give flowers to a girl, at random times ... usually the ones that are their favorite (especially if it is different than a rose), and reserve the roses for the 'holidays' with something else more personal included.
Reply:i love to get flowers i allways dry 1 out if its from a special occasion i still have a rose from my 1st date with my husband when we met :)
Reply:I think I got the shaft- I bought my man an 8gb MP3/ video player- I got flowers..... Just flowers..... Only flowers..... After 2 years together. He still hasn't gotten his christmas present because I haven't gotten mine and there's no way I'm buying him his chocolate phone that he wants while I get a dreamcatcher or something lame like that.

What do you use to attach icing flowers and accessories to a birthday cake with?

I want to try and have a go to decorate my 4 year old daughters cake for her Birthday. I just don't know how to get the flowers, ribbons etc to stick.

Any information or advice would be really appreciated.

What do you use to attach icing flowers and accessories to a birthday cake with?
I decorated a cake recently and went through a few different methods before finding one that worked well!

The way that I found works best it to get some of that "Writing Icing" stuff.. it's basically just a tube of icing with a nozzle on the end.. you can buy it in most supermarkets and it comes in loads of different colours.. squeeze a little drop onto the back of whatever it is you want to stick on the cake and hey presto! You can then replace the cap, stick it back in the cupboard and save it for next time.. also, it tastes really yummy too! :o) Have fun! and happy birthday to your daughter!
Reply:A bit of icing sugar mixed with water usually does the trick. or royal icing (some supermarkets stock icing sugar ready for royal icing - just add water, but just to atatch prob not worth the bother). otherwise you can buy sugar glue, but you might have to go to specialist cake shops for that, but check your supermarket. ribbon - if its a ribbon around the cake then use a dab or two of the icing - i usually stick a thin pin through te ribbon into the cake - sterilise in boiling water first. if you are not keen on pins around kiddies, you can just remove immeidately after the cake has been cut, or if you use a couple of dabs of icing sugar and water mix to hold it, and use the pin to secure the whole lot, by the time the icing has dried you can just remove the pin. it should stick in place.

Also, what is your cake covered with - if its just buttercream/soft icing then just push your decs on, if its firm icing you'll need the icing sugar and water or sugar glue method.

X
Reply:Use a little icing, just a small blob will do it. Keep a little back from when you ice the cake, or make up a little amount when needed. I used to do this to anchor Christmas cake decorations too.
Reply:icing
Reply:ICING...
Reply:You are icing the cake with buttercream icing, right? Just stick any pre-made stuff to it. If you are trying to pipe the flowers and stuff, just pipe them onto the cake.

Be sure to pipe the flowers sample style first on waxed paper. Pick them up with the tip of paring knife and lay them where you want them on the cake.

Much easier to do than tell how!!
Reply:I always use a very small squeeze of the icing you get in a tube. Put it on the back of the flower or ribbon with a cocktail stick or something similar. I usually use that icing for decorating and writing although I put it into my own icing back and use my nozzles. The ones that come with the tube are too thick. You could also use some icing sugar and water but it is harder to get the right consistancy
Reply:royal icing or whatever the decorations are made of, i.e.edible icing
Reply:You use some mixed icing to attach them. Very easy. Have you a cake and card shop near you? The people in there are usually very helpful for novices. Good luck.
Reply:Wilton Cake Decorating is an awesome company, they make and sell product specific to what you need to bake, create, decorate and display cakes and all the accessories.

Click on the link below:

http://www.wilton.com/decorating/basic/i...
Reply:I'm sure you use icing sugar.
Reply:a bit of icing or water, I think.
Reply:You usually use a bit of icing, but water it down just a little so its a bit gooey. If your putting ready made decorations on, you can just brush the surface of the cake and the underside of the decoration with a bit of water.
Reply:When ever I make cakes for friends and families birthdays I use a bit of homemade frosting to attach flowers. You put a dab on the cake and then stick the flower/ribbon on.
Reply:just use ordinary icing sugar make sure you have some left over.

hope this is useful.
Reply:You attach icing flowers with frosting on the back. The rest do the same.

I am looking for a way to put real flowers on a birthday cake.?

I am making a garden cake (two tiered) for a birthday. I was wonder how to put the real flowers in and what I need to put around them.

I am looking for a way to put real flowers on a birthday cake.?
What i would do is go to your local bakery and ask the cake decorator..they should know about edible flowers ,and how to clean them properly and keep them fresh looking, possible a florist would know this also.
Reply:Make sure you use organic flowers. They'll be safe to eat, because they're grown without pesticides.
Reply:if you use edible or non-toxic flowers that are preferrably organic (but not necaessary if you wash them) you will be fine just putting them on the cake directly...but don't put them on the cake until just before you serve it or at least an hour or two before b/c they can start to wilt....also a good idea to keep the cake refrigerated with the flowers on it until you display or serve it...look online for a list of nontoxic flowers..good luck!
Reply:If the flowers are edible you can just put them directly on the cake. The link below gives a good long list of edible flowers. If there's frosting on the cake, that will hold them in place.
Reply:Try looking in a health food store such as Whole Foods, they have different varieties of edible flowers.
Reply:Just place them on but place them in the refridgerator the day before leave enough stem for them to go down into the cake
Reply:First...use an edible flower..like marigolds...others are poisonous

Second...I would just go ahead and clean them and then put them on in a decorative way, just the tops though

Birthday Flowers?

I sent an ex girlfriend flowers at her office for her birthday %26amp; she refused them. A friend of mine said that was tacky %26amp; rude of her since we were suppose to remain friends. I was disappointed, but what I want to know is, do I still have to pay for these flowers that will probably be on my credit card? They were $60. My friend said that I will still have to pay for them.

Birthday Flowers?
It was really rude of her..

she must not of wanted to upset another person in her office???? so she rejected them.. but u are sure they got the correct place and girl?

I would go pick the flowers up at the florist and give them to my mom or someone.. especially if u have to pay for them.. give them to a church..

good luck
Reply:Hi There,

We are leading florists in the UK. Unfortunately, yes, you will have to pay for the flowers. Flowers are made to order and are perishable. If the address is incorrect, or if there are any other problems, florists normally contact the customer to rectify before the flowers are dispatched. However, once they are out for delivery, and the recipient refuses to accept flowers, the customer has to bear the costs. For example, if the florists deliver flowers to a Porter and the recipient refuses to collect it from the Porter, there's nothing much the porter could do. I hope it helps.
Reply:yea you probably will.. maybe she felt like you were still trying to be with her.. depending on who broke up with who.. i dont know.. thats sad though.. she didnt have to be such a ***** about it.. i would have at least excepted them and them handed them out to my other co-workers.. sorry but why let them go to waste..

My best friend's bday is on is coming up in 1 1/2 weeks, what should I get her?

Her bday will on a saturday, but I wont be able to take her anywhere because I think she is going to Ozz Fest. She will be turning 22. I want to get her something really special.

Here are some things I came up with:

-2 Doz choco dipped fortune cookies w/ Happy Bday Theme and a bouquet of Germinis or Daisies.

- Her fave color is turquois yet I'm not sure what to get her in that color...anyone know of a certain flower of that color?

-A "Birthday Chronicle, which looks like a newspaper and has articles and pictures of things that occured the day she was born.

-Take her out for manicure and pedicure

I'm kind of on a budget meaning that I can't really afford to spend more than $60 on her. Anyone have any suggestions?

My best friend's bday is on is coming up in 1 1/2 weeks, what should I get her?
I think the "Birthday Chronicle" is an excellent idea. I got one 13 years ago. I loved it! It's still in my ceder chest where I save all my memory treasures. And what more fun could you have then a manicure and pedicure together, how about lunch later? Nothing expensive just a hot dog or hamburger at the mall.

I'll throw in a suggestion to add to your list. Although I think you have come up with some very good ideas on your own.....

How about making her a nice scrap book she can add to the pages as she wishes. But you can make the cover Turquoise, Across the front title it: "GOOD TIMES" or "Memories" (just an example) written in pretty shiny gold. Good luck and have fun.
Reply:go to pawn shop and buy ear rings or necklace go see what they got.
Reply:Home Depot gift card...
Reply:go to wal-mart(or a store like that) and go on like a shopping scavenger hunt and buy lots of silly things that remind you of her i was thinking you should take her with you but i'm not sure how she would work into that. maybe she can time you or something. good luck%26amp;have fun!!!
Reply:What youve got so far sounds really great. I think thats fine
Reply:Get her some flirty earrings with torquoise colored stones in them.

A box of chocolates and a bouquet of yellow tulip flowers.

Spa gift Certificate
Reply:i say manicure for sure or a massage
Reply:I would take her for a manicure and pedicure and give her a picture frame with a photo of both of you in it. One of those picture frames that says "friends." She will appreciate it more. Good Luck!
Reply:1/2 oz of chronic for the ozzfest show.
Reply:Those all sound like really nice birthday gift ideas, but I would go w/the manicure and pedicure. I like getting pampered on my birthday.
Reply:y don't u get her a Cl@irs gift card or some other type of gift card
Reply:Gift certificate best thing
Reply:a turquoise sex toy as a gag gift and for her real gift do the chocolate fortune cookie thing everyone loves chocolaate and fortune cookies so why not both
Reply:I would take her out for a manicure and pedicure. Girls tend to LOVE that! So just take her out, and maybe shop a little.
Reply:Ewww spa gift cert. I saw someone

answer was that!

and it is special and she'll like it for another day since she busy on her b-day.

cause on spa day the person is getting

special treatment and oooohh I would lvoe

that. and then go with her its the thought that counts.!
Reply:Just give her some money becausre then sbhe can get what she wants herself
Reply:POKEMON CARDS YAAAAAAAAA
Reply:since You wont be able to take her anywhere because of the ozz fest. if you have the keys to her house/aparment or you can get her key from her then you shoule, while she is out, decorate her room with something she like. for instance if she like chocolate put rose petals around her room with candles and chocolate. or matbe she likes wine do the same thing but insted of chocolate do a wine bottle and a wine glass with ice. If you cant do that then make a scraptbook of your friendship wit her. (p.s.s I 'm only 12)

Have you ever heard this poem?

I got flowers today. It wasn't my birthday or any other special day. We had our first argument last night. He said a lot of really cruel things that really hurt me. I know he is sorry and didn't mean the things he said because he sent me flowers today.

I got flowers today. Today was a very special day. It was the day of my funeral. Last night he finally killed me

Have you ever heard this poem?
I 've never heard it before i don't feel right saying it's beautiful because it's to damn sad. I have none three separate couples personally where their husbands killed their wives. One was a dear friend of mine i went to school with. All three husbands would come home drunk and hit their wives for know reason and all three were scared to death to leave. One wife actually did leave and one month later he broke into her home while all her kids were in bed the kids were his. He had a knife with him and she tried to run up the stairs to protect her kids and on the way up he was stabbing her when he stopped she managed to get to the bed where her kids was and she fell on the bed and died. The oldest son who was 14 at the time was trying to stop his father from hurting his mom but he was out of his mind and was to strong for the boy. When the dad realize what he did he killed himself he told everyone when she left him if he can't have her no one will.
Reply:Yes, I have read that poem. It was written by Paulette Kelly in 1992
Reply:This is a poetic fable. However, more than anything, it is a cry for help. If you (or whoever wrote this poem) needs help, please make sure the person gets the help. If you are not sure how to find or get help, please e-mail me.
Reply:Omg...Wow what a poem, sorry no I've never heard of it but that is deffinately a wrenching lil number..Where did you hear of it/see it?
Reply:Didn't expect to find this poem here today...you made me pause and take a deep breath. Yes, I had read it before and cried when I did.
Reply:Nope. Doesn't look like a poem to me... but I am not an English Lit major either...
Reply:I have never read this before, I can say it is a cry for help. not so many years ago I was in this type of relationship. Had it not been for the grace of God, I would probably not be here today. If you know of anyone in this situation, you should help them find a women of domestic violence counselor in their city. they have shelters and other means of helping women in this situation, of course the woman has to want help! for this to work to her advantage. Men who abuse their mates always make the women feel like they are nothing, break them to a point where they lose all respect for themselves and feel like there is nothing else or no-one else out there for them. Women in these cases have to realize they are important ! not only to themselves, but their children also. There is always help out there. Be strong, testify against them no matter what their threats are. Take a stand for yourself and your children. domestic violence councelors and shelters are out there, seek and find them.Your local law enforcement can help you with this also.
Reply:Yes. It shocked me reading it because at first you didn't think it would end that way. It's very strong though and it makes you think.
Reply:Yes, I have. It is a famous poem that is almost a daily reading for those of us who have been in abusive relationships. After I finally got up the nerve to leave.. I would cry my eyes out wondering if I did the right thing.. not for myself, I knew I had to get out.. but I felt so bad for my daughter (who I took with me and now have sole custody of her).. Right after it happened, I wanted so badly to put my head in the sand, believe his "I'm sorry's" and go home.. someone sent this to me, and since then, when visiting abuse sites I have found this on almost every one.. it gives strength to those of us who know the true meaning of the words. Thanks for posting it again, because someone who needs it may see it here.
Reply:Wow, no I have never heard it before, but it is really moving. Thanks for sharing. Whoever wrote this knew what they were talking about.

I was married for five years to a man who used to abuse me in similar ways. It was only by the grace of God and the help of people who shared things with me such as this, that set me free. You never really know when one tiny thing you may share with someone may change their life. Hopefully you sharing this may help someone else out there.

Here's something else you may like to read, I found it somewhere in a doctor's office, written by an unknown author:

The first woman was created from the rib of a man.

She was not made from his head to top him,

Nor from his feet to be trampled upon by him,

But out of his side to be equal of him,

Under his arm to be protected,

And near his heart to be loved.
Reply:Something to think about the things women go threw is harsh...and to be admired when they fight back
Reply:I've never laid my eyes on this poem in particular, but the ending to me isn't in the least surprising. This world has distastefully grown into a cold, depressing domain and the unfortunate thing about this is the fact that we've trapped ourselves. My heart goes out to all the abused men and women out there because I myself have gone through many (and still do) ways of abuse. My best advice is to tell someone you trust and the rest will figure itself out.
Reply:No I hadn't and it is a sad poem and unfortunately it writes of very real situations.

I need an outfit to wear to a pool party!!!?

My neighbors are throwing a birthday party for this 6 year old in their backyard and want me to come. (I am freinds with the family) There will be this whole waterslide thing and waterbaloon toss. i am going to wear a bikini that is teal and has tropical flowers on it. But the big question is WHAT TYPE OF OUTFIT SHOULD I WEAR OVER THE BIKINI???? I want it to be casual and not look like I tried too hard but i still want too look good!!! Also it might get wet............and about a quarter of the party might be hanging out inside.

THX THX THX THX for the help you are giving me!!!!!!

I need an outfit to wear to a pool party!!!?
Anything sutible to wear around 6 year olds...? i would just wear a pair of denim short over it to be honest
Reply:ur welcome how was the party ne ways?? Report It

Reply:go in a pair of shorts with a tank or cami.
Reply:They sell bathing suit cover ups that look like really pretty dresses.
Reply:I have some really cute Hollister and American Eagle clothes that im trying to get rid of. Most of them are in really good condition.

So you should come to Fredericksburg ,VA ,and buy some of them.
Reply:Yes a cute dress or swim cover up. Here are some examples:

I love the second one best!
Reply:a tank top and Capri's

OR

a sun dress
Reply:try some nice white Capri's (loose Capri's) and a white shirt or a bright summer like shirt (the shirt should be a tank top) ooooohhh and have fun at the party.
Reply:wear a skirt over the bottoms and wear a cami
Reply:Hey there! I would wear short shorts since it will probably be hot, or if you arent comfortable with those, wear white or jean bermuda shorts! Then, wear a simple tank top on top and flip flops. Don't dress like your going to the mall, cuz it's a little kids pool party, you know? Stick to da basics!

Good Luck!
Reply:since you cant buy anything today, just wear some shorts that are old but still look good and a t-shirt. nothing fancy. no ones gonna care so much about how you look.
Reply:Well, A few questions you should ask yourself is the budget and what exactly are you willing to spend. If you really want to look great I think you should check out your local Hollister store. maybe a short jean skirt which they have plenty of and a cute hollister cami/tank/ or polo whichever would be suitable for the weather or your budget. With this store you are sure to look trendy and cute and not like you tried too hard. If mini skirts aren't your style you could try a pair of shorts which hollister has plenty of!! In great colors as well.!!

Good Luck and have fun!!
Reply:wear a cute summer dress over it

Camping in Dwellingup?

I am taking my dad camping for his birthday (his first time) in Dwellingup in the Lane Pool reserve. I've never organised a trip before so I need help! Has anyone ever been there? Is this time of year a good time to go canoeing there? Are there any wild flowers there at this time of the year, or is there anywhere near Dwellingup that we could see any? Does anyone know any exciting activities we could do in the area? And on a general camping note, would things like sausages and such last in an esky for one day?

Camping in Dwellingup?
Dwellingup is my favourite place! It is cold at this time of year though so take plenty of warm bedding and clothes. There weren't any wildflowers out when we went there about a month ago...wildflower season is spring...but I found heaps of different interesting fungi (mushrooms etc). Canoeing would be good...there were heaps of people out when we went. There are also heaps of walk trails that you can follow. My hubby and I plus our 13, 5 , 2 year olds walked for hours and all had a great time. Or you can ride mountain bikes along the trails instead if you want too. Sausages etc would last a couple of days in an esky with ice and there are small BBQ pits with hotplates over them that you can camp at...as long as you take your own firewood (which you can buy in the town for $5 a big bag). There is a camp of year 6's or 7's down there from our school at the moment until friday so if they can last that long in the cool weather...I am sure you will be fine for a weekend. On the drive to Dwellingup we found a great dam to visit where heaps of baby marron were walking around in the shallow water. Was a nice place to picnic. I think it was the North Dandelup dam north of Dwellingup. I hope you have a good time...and feel free to email me with any more questions...when my hubby gets home he will know a lot more about it than me as he has been there heaps more than I have. Good choice of camp spot by the way!!
Reply:take lots of warm beding and cloths

What would you do...?

... if this happened to you?

There's one really good looking girl in my class and she took some really embaressing pictures of herself. Then she sent them to the guy that I sit with and he sent them to me. Next day he created a new e-mail with my name and sent them to everybody else in the class... Yesterday was that girls birthday and I gave her some flowers and what did that guy that i sit with do? He hanged her bag onto the flagpole, of course he accused me. Next break i was thinking that I dodged the bullet and then out of nowhere comes one teacher and he tells me to come with him. He gives me the bag and tells me to go to the head masters office. I come into the office and what do I see - those pictures on the his laptop. Now the real surprise was the fact that the he told me to ask the girl to go out with me. Now please tell me what would you do.

What would you do...?
Tell the head master everything. It's your friends word against yours. What else do you have to lose? You're already in a lot of trouble. Truth will come out.
Reply:What was said above. Tell the truth. Last let the head master know it is not his place to tell you how or what relationship to be in. Say it in a nice way of course. Who knows he might have even been trying to see a reaction of some sort. Good luck and just tell the truth.

Taking photographs of houses...?

I got a digital camera for my birthday this past June. I love to take pictures of nature, flowers, the sky, sunsets, sunrise, etc. I am also attracted to unique or historic architecture and often go for walks around my city photographing historic homes and buildings.

Is this legal? I have heard recently that a person can't take a picture of another person's house without their permission. Is this true? If I can take pics of people's houses, can I then edit the pictures so the house looks nicer, and post those pictures to public accessed websites? What about public buildings such as libraries, colleges, churches?

I'm not asking for people's opinions about whether or not they would let someone take photos of the outside of their home or not, I want to hear from people with a legal background....

Thank you.

Taking photographs of houses...?
You can take pictures of anything that is in public. Thats why all the movie stars get so pissed. If your taking picture of a house you can't take ones of the inside, unless of course your invited in. And you may be accosted if the people don't like you taking pictures and the police will tell yu to move along but it isn't a crime.

The laws are different in every state but I feel pretty confident that if your out during the day and take a picture of a house it is not illegal. However skidoctor below makes some very good points.
Reply:In my neighborhood, going around taking pictures of people's homes will get you an opportunity to meet some of our local police. Police pretty much have to respond to complaints of something called "suspicious activity". People are uneasy with the type of activity you describe, because you could be planning some sort of crime or burglary. The police know this because it is a tactic used by criminals/

If you have a ligitimate reason for your unusual hobby and your explanation satisfies the police, its all good. However, it is likely they will ask you to leave the neighborhood.

If there is a break-in or other crime committed in the area following your activity, guess who the cops want to speak with?

Photographing public buildings is even worse and will get the attention of police very quickly.

Unfortunately, you have a hobby that may get you more police exposure than you are comfortable with.

In january, i made a very foolish pass at my male best friend which was rejected?

at the time he told me it was not a problem, but we should perhaps not see each other for a few weeks, to give it time to heal, but assured me that it was not a problem and we would go back to being friends again as soon as, however, i have tried to contact him since, and he won't either take my phone calls or answer my e.mails, and I don't know what to do, I miss him so much, and my life is not as fullfilled without him, we shared so many good times, and became the best of friends, i should say we are both in our forties and have both been married before and got together as friends, and I ruined it because of missread signs, ( he said how muched he always missed me, how nice i looked how nice my hair looked ) and it was my birthday and he had bought me flowers and had a painting commissioned for me, and also I had drunk a lot of champagne and i was overwhelmed, and now he won't talk to me, what should i do

In january, i made a very foolish pass at my male best friend which was rejected?
I think hes being abit immature.

You should write him a letter and make it clear that you are sorry for what happened and that you really miss him as a FRIEND and that you aren't interested in more than that

If he is a real friend he should forgive you
Reply:typical guy at this age... only want a no strings attached relationship, and run at the first sign that a woman might actually like them more than a little bit.

I know this sounds horrible, but you need to move on because he has already made it very clear that you got too close and he wants nothing to do with it. If he calls again in 2 or 3 months, you need to remember the rejection and forget the good stuff; otherwise he will make it a pattern. Some guys think they can get what they want but ignore your feelings altogether... don't let them get away with that. Your feelings are just as important in a relationship of any kind, and the fact that he runs when you express your feelings is a sign that he doesn't really care about you - he's just a fair-weather friend. YOU CAN DO BETTER!
Reply:Take the hint - it sounds as if he doesn't want to continue your friendship. Obviously your pass was a bigger problem than he let on at the time. The only thing you can do is move on.
Reply:i would have read the signs the same way you did.

all you can do is give him more time and let him come to you when he is ready
Reply:let it rest for awhile. he should have understood you, sad..
Reply:if he wont talk to you then you talk to him, explaon what happend maybe that would get him talking again. I am not an adult **still in school** so my perseption of life isnt as realistic as others, but i hope I heloed, GOOD LUCK!
Reply:Hmmm... this is difficult. The only thing you can do is try to talk to him....face to face, not on the phone, not through email. Is there anyway you can go to his house and speak to him there?? Explain why you did it that you misread some signs and apologize for not reading them right. You also have to realize that it's unfortunately possible it is all too late ... and that the friendship is over.....
Reply:Yeah sounds like you blew it, but he was giving you major signals so it's not entirely your fault.

Chalk it up to experience and move on.
Reply:its so hard to not cross that line but i think that we do when we have strong relationships with people it goes past plutonic to a different level. i wouldnt hurt yourself over this i would maybe let be what will be. im sure given time if you left him alone hell come round hes probably scared that it would be awkward and stuff. it would be very hard to pretend that that was never said.
Reply:then you blew it big time then didnt you?
Reply:are you male ?
Reply:give him some space and see what happens
Reply:Well to some one in your forties, this may sound pretty dumb coming from some one in their 20's but I'd like to point out, that if your friendship was a strong as you thought, you wouldn't be making this post. In my opinion, as a friend, you invested way more into the relationship than he did, and you don't need half assed friends, you do't deserve it. I've been with my present bf for almost 2 years, and my best friend of 6 years drops this bomb on me that he's been in love with me since we met. I didn't act weird, I tld him where he stood, and he unerstood. this was like 6 or 7 months ago, and we live in differnt area codes, but he came to visit me this weekend, and there were no problems. I guess what I'm trying to say is it takes a lot to destroy a strong friendship, and if you made this small (and yes it is a small thing) mistake, and that killed yours, well maybe it wasn't as strong as you thought. Good luck

Have u ever had a day where you were thankful that you are loved?

Birthday gift for 19 yearold girlfriend?

dating for 3 years ( im 19 too ) got her a ring a before, jewelry, flowers, made her stuff, cd's. been there done that lol. i need a fresh new idea, bought or made. any suggestions will be good =) also if it is bought please make sure it is less than $70. ( haha university students were poor)

Birthday gift for 19 yearold girlfriend?
Are you artistic? If so, you should paint/draw/sculpt her something. It will mean so much because it truly came from your heart.

If you aren't artistic yourself, you can take a picture of her (or the two of you together) and have an artist from your school draw it. Then you buy a cheap frame from a thrift store and you have the perfect gift.

Good luck!
Reply:girls looooveeeee candles u should buy or make her one find the purrrrfect scent somethin like freshly cut roses smells good....
Reply:take her out for her birthday. if she's a university student also then she understands the low budget. take her out for a really nice night. get dressed up. do something fun!!!!! %26amp;%26amp; if you don't want to do that....

Birthday gift for mom?

Any ideas....its technically in an hour.

She's going out of town though early in the morning.

i actually have to go into work for a few minutes about 2 hours before she leaves, so i can grab something from walmart.

(which i don't really want to do, but yeah i rather get her something than nothing and then get her something else in a few days.....been so busy. )

She likes girly stuff mostly.....I don't' like repeating gifts. Got her a ring one year.....necklace another....earrings another.......flowers delivered to work......did perfume too many times. She's a coin / stamp collector...but not like super into it....got her rare coins and stamps last year.

Today's my birthday. I'm 17!!!?

This is really lame I know but since I don't have many people in my life/ friends to share this with....

I'M 17.

I only got a gift from my mother: flowers and money.

I know this isn't really a question... but oh well.

Today's my birthday. I'm 17!!!?
Happy Birthday. This is a good time to start your own personal birthday tradition. Since you don't have many people in your life right now, and your mom is the only one who celebrated your birthday this year, plan on adding another person to your circle of relationships for next year's celebration. Also, repeat an activity, plant a tree, rent a favorite movie, write a poem, etc. Something that you will do each year on your birthday. Then the next year, add another friend, etc. By the time you are 25, you will have added at least 8 people to your life, and if you're truly blessed at least 4 of those will remain your true companions throughout the rest of your life.

Then you will look back on this birthday with fond memories because it was the year you began to celebrate your birth on purpose!

Happy 17th and I hope you truly celebrate your life.

Last year I got her a flowering tree for her yard

What should I get my Auntie for her Birthday?
A gift card from her favorite store. It's sweet of you to want to get her something. Way to go !
Reply:Some ideas:

Sweet smelling lotion, perfume, shower gel.

Red flowers?

Some nice smelling candles?

(Jasmine is always a nice smell for everything.)
Reply:Something she would enjpy
Reply:Either a lovely collectible, or a sex toy. Whatever her preference is.

Or a candle.

Her Birthday?

Ok next week is my girls b-day, and idk what to get her.

We've been dating about 6 months..........help!!!!

Should i get her flowers, chocolates....?

Her Birthday?
no. flowers and chocolates are more for the lovey-dovey valentines day stuff. get her something that you know will be valuble to her that she will always keep. maybe something as simple as a jewelry box cause you know she has trouble organizing or you might want to tell her that for her birthday you are going to take her out for a whole day and do whatever she wants to do on you. if you want you can have ideas planned such as visiting a museum that you know she will like or maybe seeing a broadway show... or you can just go to like a glass work place or something. be creative to show that you care. a heart shaped box of chocolates may look like a heart, but it rarely comes from the heart

good luck=]
Reply:be different and leave the common flowers alone get her a stuffed toy or if your computer savvy, make her a personnel CD. listen to her and make the best choice on her wants

Birthday present question! Will give points.?

Okay, so some might have noticed I've asked whether or not to give my friend that's a girl a stuff your own teddy bear, that would match the theme of her kitchen and living room for her b-day. (I'm stuffing it). I will give it to her no matter what! I feel I should give a nice card too.

A few have suggested giving her flowers. Great idea, but I've heard that you should only do that if you're dating. We are not dating. We are just simple friends that are co-workers. We are not real close, but we've been on a few dates. I'd like to do something nice for her, because she's been really good to me.

Back to the card, homemade or store bought? What kind of message? I just want to keep it friendly, but I also want to show her how thoughtful I am and how much I care about her. Giving it to her shouldn't be hard, I'm just a little nervous that it won't go over to well.

What should I do about a card and flowers?

Birthday present question! Will give points.?
WOW! I really think a teddy bear and a handmade card would be perfect. Flowers are still wonderful, no matter what occasion. When making the homecard just say what you want to say.. [how you feel that moment, living that moment]

i seriously think this is sweet of you!!!

well hope we helped...
Reply:ok this sounds like u want to be more than just her friend but nonetheless i'll help

card store bought but with a create ur own message and if u are not very good at the whole expressing the way poets do then get her something u like (in the greeting card) that u would have written but couldn't because your no Robert Frost.

The teddy bear is the way to go because flowers imply too much.
Reply:Flowers are always a lovely present. I mean, so long as they aren't roses they shouldn't send out the wrong messages. If you went to a florists you may be able to get what you want added to it, or ask someone at the florists what they recommend.

What kind of person is she? Sentimental? I personally love home made cards, but I'm more creative and appreciate little touches like that. Sometimes those artsy cards with just a photograph on the front and blank on the inside are nice for writing your own personal message. Might balance out the flowers a bit signals-wise.

Do something from the heart, don't worry about it so much! You're her colleague and friend, she will appreciate anything you give her, I doubt she'll analyse absolutely everything :)

Take care
Reply:yes card, no flowers. I think she will like the bear. probably should buy the card unless you are wanting this to move to a more personal level
Reply:why not buy both? if you're not dating, then you shouldnt make the message sound too intimate. I prefer store bought cards only cuz im neither artistic nor creative enough to make my own homemade one. say..Dear whomever,....happy birthday...thanks for always being there for me and helping me through every step of the way...stuff like that. idk.

Some don't like the phrase "Merry Christmas." "So can't I just print "Happy Birthday Jesus?"

Out society is becoming bound by the fear of offending non believers. It discust me. For instance I love the color yellow, but only as paint, or in flowers. Not as a streak down a person's spine. I have heard that in some locations it is against the law to display "Merry Christmas." So with this in mind, I quess I think it puts believers in a position to just come on out display what the truth is. Do you agree? If not why?

Some don't like the phrase "Merry Christmas." "So can't I just print "Happy Birthday Jesus?"
I think if people are offended by Merry Christmas, then they'll be even more offended by Happy Birthday Jesus. I personally am not offended, but some might
Reply:If it's what you practice...it's "Merry Christmas" in my world. I'm so sick of bending over backwards for others that choose to come to this country and we have to change. Dang it! They came here, they better be prepared for it. Would they dismiss the way they celebrated a holiday just because we all come over to their country?
Reply:i like that, it sounds wonderful. i would do it .
Reply:Sure, in fact they sell Christmas cards that say that.

Whether or not someone is a believer does not change the value of the words "Merry Christmas", since Christ was born and became the savior of the sins of all men even those who reject Him. Seems to me only Jews would be offended because they don't believe Jesus is the Christ, regardless He is so:

Merry Christmas to all!
Reply:Merry X-mas is for people 7 friends. If u wanna sayHappy Bday to Jesus... go ahead and do it.. but don't say that to me.. say it to Jesus.
Reply:No I do not agree with you. At all.

First off, everyone needs to stop being offended. We live in a world that is really, really, really, diverse and you should be able to say or put up a sign saying anything you damn well please. People can really just get over it. I'm not a Christian, but you should be able to post your Merry Christmas sign 365 days a year if you want to.

Now about your question... Christianity in defenition is a relationship between YOU and GOD. Thats it. So if you believe in the Bible, WHY WOULD YOU CARE TO (quote; un-quote) "Put believers in a position to just come on out and display the truth." its not a popularity contest or club (although at times I know it gets confusing) If you have a relationship with your god, great. Put up a sign that says "Have a merry day or God loves you" if you want, you'll be spreading the same word... You still win.

I think thats what Jesus would say :)
Reply:honestly if somebody's offended let them be. and if they bother you, tell them to go **** themselves with a traffic cone
Reply:Considering that Christmas is actually the holiday of Yule and that Jesus wasn't born in December... what do you think? No, you can't. Because Jesus wasn't born in December.
Reply:Actually Jesus wasn't born on Christmas, even though that's symbolically what you're celebrating.

syncretism of religious holidays occurred between romans and christians after constantine's rule.
Reply:I think a very small portion of the population (with the help of the ACLU) decided to make a big stink out of an American holiday. As a result Christians and people who are just tired of the political correctness technicalities decided to fight back, good for them.
Reply:Look, it doesn't matter what or how you say it, if it angers some people, they will be angered. I am not separated from my beliefs - it's like my shadow. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A BLESS AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!!!
Reply:Merry Whatever..Happy Everything. Its all commercialized, and big business now anyway so what does it matter what its called.
Reply:Yeah do it, it's vastly more awesome. OR you could send cards saying "Rock Out on Jesus Day" with Jesus on the cover strumming an electric guitar. You should be able to celebrate your faith in any way you want in whatever words you want.
Reply:Yes I agree with you but I still write Merry Christmas whenever I get a chance. It infuriates me to think that I should be ashamed of my Savior because I might offend someone. If they want to say "HAPPY (insert your god here)" I could care less. Just don't try to stop me. I'm proud of my heritage. I make TV commercials for a living and anytime I can C/G in Merry Christmas, I do it. Clients don't mind. And I never write merry Xmas when I'm crunched for space, I at least write merry cmas cause then I know what it means. OK now I'm off my soapbox!
Reply:yes
Reply:Who cares WTF those other people think. We live in the land of free speech remember? By the way MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Reply::-) Good point. There actually is no definite date set for the birth of Jesus in the bible. But we all celebrate the birth of Jesus on the 25th of December. So just say either one, and those that can't handle hearing the words Merry Christmas are worrying about the wrong things.
Reply:Happy Yule!
Reply:Please don't think I am attacking you, I am not, I am simply stating my opinion as you have stated yours...I think from what you wrote, that it is unfortunate that you are so closed minded about this subject but your opinion is not unusual in my experience, just like we have freedom of religion here in the U.S., we have (or should have)freedom 'from' religion, and just because someone doesn't believe or act like you automatically make them 'bad' or OK to disrespect, or push off and or bulldoze your beliefs all over them... Its known as not being prejudiced and small minded (and hearted)realizing that our world, our country is made up of a rich diversity of people...and You can say or do all the Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday Jesus in your own home, with your own family and friends, and with others that share your religious beliefs but outside in the rest of the world, it is courteous and thoughtful to simply say or write Happy Holidays, I don't think anyone of any religion, or anyone with no religion would find it objectionable, and isn't the point of all this to wish someone warm regards, showing good will towards men (and women) and all rest that goes with it...forget the semantics, btw, HAPPY HOLIDAYS! (sincerely)

Gf birthday present? :(?

my gf's friend who is a guy got her a 'white gold' bracelet or whatever, I got her a card, and i drew her a picture and bought her a cd and some flowers, I am starting to get worried because I think the bracelet might be expensive and my presents are rubbish, im not rich so i couldnt get her anything good, I dont know if she angry about my crappy presents but i am worried that he might have given her something worth a lot more to her, what do I do?

i am also wondering how much a white gold bracelet is worth or whatever :'(

Gf birthday present? :(?
If your girlfriend just judges a gift by how costly it is then it is not worth it.
Reply:you know, friend, if your gf really loves you, you need not be worried too much. a bracelet may bring some sparkle but your gift would tickle her heart. that's for sure!
Reply:ok, you don't have to be rich to give somebody something they love. It doesn't have to be something big. I appreciate even the little things. Your present it just fine. I don't think she is mad at you. If she is for some reason she is a. Ok nevermind. I'm not sure what a white gold braclet costs though. But hey if you gave the present you gave her to me I'd like it.
Reply:A white gold bracelet is worth nothing if it is given by someone you don't love truly. I think it is very sweet that you hand made a present by yourself. And please, you present is not rubbish as compared to his. Your present required effort (drawing her a picture) while he took the easy way out of forking out his cash.

If she truly loves you, she would totally love anything you give her (as long as you remembered her birthday).

And if she truly loves you, she wouldn't even be caught wearing that bracelet especially since she knows it might make you jealous.

Lastly, don't worry about the value of the presents that you have given her. If anything, she would treasure anything given by you.
Reply:awww !! that's so sweet of you!

girls cherish that kind of stuff! %26amp; its never rubbish ... i know you've probably heard this so many times before but its the thought that counts! i'm sure she isnt angry and i'm POSITIVE she loved what u did. money comes and goes, but love never dies.. and you put alot of love and effort into what you gave her ... she can get a white bracelet from anyone, anywhere anytime.. but something as special as a card and flowers from YOU, showing how much you love her is something she can't just go out and get.. its very special and you're a sweet guy =)

you think not to spoil her with material but with your love and i'm very very sure she would appreciate that.. i would! and honestly, your present is worth a whole lot more than a bracelet!!!

good on ya!!! xx

p.s. dont get into a fight with him.. your girlfriend will surely be mad at u for that. remember this: you're the one who has her right now and you're the one with the chance to give her love so dont lose that chance.. if he's her friend.. let it be, you're her girlfriend and you're the one who should be looking out for her.. so dont get into any trouble with this guy.. your gf knows u love her alot and sounds as if she doesnt want to get involved with the guy anymore than she already is so dont worry =)
Reply:If your g.f is a materialistic person then she's not for you. She should love anything you get her. A white gold braclet is about $60-$80

If she dumps you for him then you know she's not for you
Reply:Yes the the bracelet is nice but she knows the sitution you are in.

IF she loves you she will love anything you give her.

Why would this person being buying something like this for your girlfriend?

Bad Breath

Ok, Birthday questions?

Its her sweet sixteen and we have been going out for about 5 months i know i'm sending flowers to her place but im not sure on the actual gift that im going to give her. We were talking about perfume and she said she liked the Versace but i am completely in love with the Juicy Couture. She seemed to like it but she knows its more expensive, so i think thats why she told me she like versace best, o well the question is, Should i give her the one i like or the one she says she likes?

Ok, Birthday questions?
If you can afford it, the Juicy Couture.

Guys, would you like it if your girlfriend sent you flowers?

i live in singapore and my boyfriend is in canada, i was thinking of sending him flowers 2 days before his Birthday to have him anticipate his actual birthday gift. Would guys like to get flowers?

Guys, would you like it if your girlfriend sent you flowers?
unless hes got problems regarding his own sexuality, why wouldnt he love such a thoughful gift? across the world like that especially. whats the actual gift, you?
Reply:Flowers are useless and just takes up a lot of space in my house. She could give just give me sex instead.
Reply:While i think your idea is cute, i can't imagine a guy being too happy after getting flowers from anyone.
Reply:umm no. in your situation it would probably be nice to recieve something from you because it shows you care. However no guy (straight or gay) that I have ever met gives a **** about flowers. They are a pointless gift that guys definitely do not care about. But like I said he would probably appreciated some token of affection, just to show that you are thinkin about him when he isnt even around.
Reply:Of course, yes! A single rose, would be read as volumes of love-(pamph)lets delivered! Guys have a hearts of gold, very tough like the metal, but meltable with just the right amount of warmth, poetically through gifts of flowers!
Reply:Me personally no, I'm not a flower man......

Now there are some more "manly" things you can send him. There are Beer or Soda grams....those are cool.
Reply:well its a bit cheesy to send a guy flowers. Maybe send a CD of his favorite music artist.

if anything its the thought that counts
Reply:I personally love the look and smell of flowers, but is a little girly. He could be embarrassed if friends of family saw him receiving flowers.
Reply:I've gotta feeling that, if he's a sensible guy, he will really appreciate the flowers. In a case like this, it really is the thought that counts. Those flowers aren't going to be just pretty, girly things to him. They are going to be a tangible symbol of your love for him, and that's the only thing he's going to care about. :)
Reply:I would have to say it depends on the guy. I for one would rather get a potted plant over flowers. Flowers seem to be a feminine gift. Also you got to concider where you are delivering them. Say you had them sent to him at his work place, would he be embarassed? I hope that helps.
Reply:I would like the thought behind it, my girl thinking of me and all. Honestly though, the flowers wouldn't thrill me, unless it was like a bonzai tree or something.

Send him food. Or a bonzai tree.
Reply:if he loves you soo much and if he hates flowers soo much dosent matter...if i hate flower and if its my girlfriend senting me flowers that'll be the best gift i will ever get..( even when i get those flowers faded)i love flowers and all guys too..so goo on...thats gud to receive flowers,,
Reply:I don't think guys will like flowers. And sending flowers to Canada? I suggest a gift, a thing that he can keep.

GL find your bf a gift now.
Reply:thats not bad, in fact i find it sweet.
Reply:when my fiancee was sick i was going to send him flowers but my sister told me it was kinda girly so i settled on balloons even tho it didn't seem quite as good....and he LOVED them!! He told me he's glad i sent him balloons rather than flowers
Reply:I know I wouldn't. Sorry.
Reply:No ! I'd be rather surprised but i believe it would be better if you send him a small gift rather than flowers.
Reply:I sent flowers to one of my ex boyfriends while we were dating, he loved it. I think its the meaning behind the flowers. Not all guys are gonna agree with me here.
Reply:Plz, no not at all. May be you could try sending a cake instead.
Reply:Uhh I don't think most would care either way. It would be a nice gesture though and he would understand that I assume. I personally wouldn't mind.
Reply:Dont ask what guys would like. Ask yourself what he likes. Tools, books, beer, a gift card, a naughty picture of yourself?

Women %26amp; men are opposite most of the time when it comes to gifts. My wife likes sentiment, gestures, %26amp; useless things that are pretty. I like things I can do to work or relax - something that has a use.

Hope this helped.
Reply:Sure. Gifts of flowers are a traditional gesture of love, and are not the sort of present you would be unhappy to receive.
Reply:I once had a girlfriend who sent me flowers. I was actually quite flattered by the gesture.
Reply:I don't think guys like flowers.. I think it's not a good idea of sending him flowers. Why don't you send him other things as a birthday present? Something he likes, something is useful for him.

*Flowers are for girls who like to show off in front of the others*, haha~
Reply:Hmm...I've never thought about this before, but I think flowers would not be too bad. Great idea.
