Do guys like to recieve flowers?

i want to do something nice for my friend's birthday. he picks me flowers once in a while, gives me a lot of compliments, and is really sweet. I want to show him i care and want to be with him, but i'm not sure if a teddy bear, flowers, or anything like that would be appropriate for him. (his friends have told me he likes me and they are always singling us out...which is kinda nice, so i'm pretty sure it won't be too weird).

Do guys like to recieve flowers?
The Society of American Florists at www.aboutflowers.com say, “Men love flowers!”, and “over 60% of men surveyed said that they would like to receive flowers on Valentines Day.”

I would advice sending a single rose, and getting an additional gift to accompany it; something 'masculine' as cologne, a nice belt, a pair of glasses, a keychain, or a classy pen...

G'd Luck!
Reply:That sounds nice. But just remember that he is a guy. So what about cologne or a nice hat. Or something more boyish. But that's a very nice idea. Oh and it depends on the guy. some do.
Reply:Pee wee Herman loves them.

What would be a creative present for my friends birthday?

She's 18 and I would like to buy her something different, cute, interesting. Do you have any ideas? I don't want clothes, flowers, necklaces or anything obvious and I'm going to give her a card so that's not good either. Thanks!

have a look on the net at i want one of those they have some good stuff
Reply:ART..are there any bizarre type shops in your area? IF you are artistic, go to art.com and look up some ideas from other artists. My favorite is Natasha Wescoat. If not, go to urbanoutfitters.com, and go look in the "entertainment"

and also "furnishing" section. They have some COOOOL stuff.. Deff check out their books too. hahaa they are great.
Reply:Why not use your photos of her and her friends and family to make a personalised calendar? or mug or placemats? I think the Kodak website does them
Reply:think of a good time that you shared together and get something that represents that time.

today's my friend's 18th.

one year, we had just seen monty python and the holy grail. she went out and bought a coconut. then she drained all the milk from it, cut it in half, and scraped everything out for days! then she stuck the two halves in a box that held this teddy bear she made at build a bear workshop because she knew that i go to the hospital alot.

and on my last birthday, my ex-boyfriend's mom bought me a shirt that said "dump him" and had a picture of a girl driving a dump truck and a guy falling off the back.

you don't need to search for something so different that it screams special. just find something that means something.
Reply:you could make her a scrapbook of all your great times together. make sure you keep copies of the photos for yourself before making the scrapbook.

50th birthday suggestions?? Please!?

I learned last year that my father in law does not (and never has) done anything for my mother in law birthdays. No card, flowers, or anything. In May she turns 50, and I am looking for ideas to make it really, really great for her. She is a naturalist, as unmaterialistic as you can be, and very quiet. She has a small group of friends.

As I said, she is not used to any acknowledgement so please help me!

50th birthday suggestions?? Please!?
Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:

Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two and family would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!

The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.

Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.

Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.
Reply:a small get together with her best friends at home..make sure she knows she's loved...lots of flowers =]
Reply:First, make sure she wants something--some people really do not like to celebrate their birthdays because we don't feel it's any achievement to just wake up and breath all day. Some naturalists don't like cut flowers, they'd rather have them still alive and attached to their leaves and roots in the ground. And some people don't like surprise parties. So you need to find out first. Then, if she's up for something, look for a nice organic restaurant, possibly with an outdoor setting or go for a hike and a picnic at some outdoor place with her closest friends and family.
Reply:Throw her a nice surprise party and invite family and friends. She will probably be so happy that you think so highly of her.
Reply:have fun
Reply:this samething happened to my aunt a month ago.

we gave her 2 vases of 25 flowers and each flower had a card from us
Reply:thats a great idea!

what i did for my nanna`s 50th b-day is:

(question for men) Would u like it if a woman sent u flowers at work?

I have been sort of seeing someone for a few weeks, but we're not sure if we are just friends or more? I sent him (red roses) flowers at work today for his birthday. Was I too forward? (I am a woman, by the way)

(question for men) Would u like it if a woman sent u flowers at work?
I sent flowers to my boyfriend at work two years ago and he really appreciated it! He said no one has ever done that for him before and he was very happy. What I sent him was a very simple vase with three pink roses in it. That was because pink was the color rose he had previously gotten me, and I wanted him to know that I remembered. I got him a rose one other time (way before) that was plain red and I gave it to him at his house, not at work, but he loved that also, showed it off to his family, and they all talked about how sweet I was for weeks.

I think a lot of the answers here are gender stereotypes. If the guy is really into you and loves you than he will take the flowers as what they are, a gesture of love, and he will be happy that you did that for him. It's the 21st century and we're supposed to be so liberated. Of course, a woman can buy flowers for a man if she wants to express herself that way, and he will know that they are meant to be romantic and are a symbol of how much she cares.
Reply:i think that is really nice it makes a change for a woman to make the first move with romance good on you if he does not appreciate it then sod him you can do better
Reply:I dunno.. Maybe he's embarrassed cuz he got flowers.... But it was a nice thought. You should've sent him a case of beer instead.
Reply:After a few weeks, I think that's a great way to show that you want to step up the relationship, or at least make sure you two are on the same page.
Reply:That's kind of embarrasing!

men aren't supposed to get flowers at work, women are supposed to get flowers at work....

Everyone is gonna think he's gay...........
Reply:No not at all. If I were in his position I would consider it an act of kindness and thoughtfullness. I'm sure he loved it or is going to love it.
Reply:yeah....i would never ever send flowers to my hubby at work....it will embarass them
Reply:I would think that is sweet. Maybe he has the same feelings. Just make sure he's not the one answering this question.
Reply:To be very honest with you, what ever you have done is ok type - not much appealing

everyone has their own sweet spots. if you want ot please him, send him a fun card. He will smile and then will give you that "LOOK" what you are expecting.

Just try it out, I am not expert but I would have loved if some one had done that.
Reply:No but a BJ would be even better.
Reply:Sammy, typically guys don't appreciate flowers the way women do.

It's not that it would be gay (not that there's anything wrong with that) or embarassing, it's just that a man doesn't associate flowers (receiving anyway) with romance.

Now, if you sent him a home made card/invitation for a candle lit dinner, that would probably send the right message.

I think it was a nice touch though, have any sisters :)
Reply:I think his people at work mite think hes gay getting flowers from someone. it was a sweet thing to do, but men just arent into flowers. If i were him id be a lil surprised and taken back by that.
Reply:NOOOOO!!! Dont waste flowers on a guy. I would feel like a douche bag if i got flowers. We dont give two shits about flowers!

My gf got me flowers one time and i had to do that gay thing where you smell them, but really faking the smelling of the flowers, so you make them think you really care!
Reply:LOL, a little off the norm, but hey, this is 2007.

I would be a bit embarrassed, but would greatly appreciate the gesture.
Reply:it was nice of u but personally i would be embarrassed to get flowers at work.
Reply:it's cool... but next time send it with a six pack.. so it's not so gay.... but it's cool.... i get it sometimes...
Reply:i think that was a very nice gesture on your part.no i wouldnt mind at all.and i dont think he will mind either.it was very nice of you thinking of him that much,to send him flowers, but the next time, send him something else.i think those are for women.

Dating new girl, gift ideas for her birthday?

I have been dating this girl for about 2 months. We have gone out about 4 times. Her birthday is already at the end of the week. We are not officially together (yet). Any ideas for a gift this early. I was thinking a card, flowers, and dinner.

Dating new girl, gift ideas for her birthday?
Make the card,

Pick the flowers,

and Make the dinner,

Show her that you care by giving her your time
Reply:if ur cheap Tulips and make a cd with all sweet music on it and also up a voice recoding saying happy bday, and record a poem as well.. how sweet!
Reply:- dinner and a movie

- a sweater/shirt from her favourite store

- book from her fave author...if she likes to read

- flowers and chocolate

good luck!
Reply:You want to do something sweet yet special to show that you are more than just a friend...

Find out a spot where she goes by everyday (driving, walking, etc...) get some poster board and make her a sign telling her happy birthday... Shows thought and extra effort and plus will make her smile...

Then a birthday dinner with a card - I would hold off on the flowers since you aren't officially an item yet...

If you do this let me know how it goes bro!
Reply:dinner and a small gift would be fine.
Reply:why get her ANYTHING???? ur not officially together yet, so just say "happy birthday" when u see her, and shake her hand. im sure just the thought that u said it to her, she will appreciate. if u actually gave her something, it will make u come across to be smothering her.
Reply:Give her a microwavable stuffed animal from this site http://CuteGiftStore.com/Warm-Animals I gave the pink pig to my girlfriend and she was overjoyed. These animals are stuffed with lavender so they smell extra nice when you heat them up.

How would you feel if you boyfriend didn't give you a birthday card or gift?

My boyfriend bragged to me 2 days before my birthday about what a wonderful boyfriend this girl in the office had, she got a huge bonquet of flowers from her boyfriend sent to her at work and she was so happy. Then he didn't get me flowers, a card nor a gift on my birthday. I was so hurt. My birthday was yesterday and I was so hurt. This tells me alot about him in my eyes.

How would you feel if you boyfriend didn't give you a birthday card or gift?
Thats not COOL!!! I'd definitely ask why he didn't consider your birthday. By him mentioning someone else's bf being so nice and considerate, I'd be really, really ticked off. Try to get some answers from him.
Reply:O gurlie I know how u feel! My boyfriend did the same thing to me a couple months ago - and this was after I made a big deal about his birthday.. although he tried to make up for it, im still hurt about it.
Reply:I'd feel like getting a new boyfriend.
Reply:how long have you guys being going out? maybe he forgot your birthday.
Reply:sounds like a jerk

find someone else
Reply:At least a card would have been nice or him telling you happy birthday. I don't generally expect gifts, so when I do get one, I'm genuinely surprised. But, yeah, it would show that he either forgot or he just isn't thoughtful.
Reply:Did he atleast tell you happy birthday?
